CNN poll shows him at 15 percent, which is just 2 points behind Romney. He hasn't even announced. Most people don't know anything about him, other than that he is governor of Texas.

Why is he leading the pack with Romney?

[ ] The 15 percent selecting him are from the religious base of the party and know he's a fundamentalist, so pick him.

[x] Dissatisfaction with the other choices.

Maybe because he as the Governor of a state, has shown by his states creating half of the jobs in the USA that something he is doing actually works. And he doesn't seem to use a TelePrompTer.

His teleprompter is jesus himself. He creates job with a wave of his hand. He smells of rich mahogany, etc, etc.

It's seems to be working doesn't it? Why knock something that's actually working? And there's nothing wrong with that. I thought you guys were opened minded?????

It just seems like with the amount of support he's getting - people are just assuming he's the right man for the job.

I have plenty of questions before I throw my support behind him. For example, he complained about and ideologically opposed the government monetary aid - but took it and used it help balance the state budget. Despite that - he' still running a monumental deficit.

he's running a deficit, but texas did keep their surplus unlike other states who spent it.

To answer the question, his state has created half of the jobs in the U.S. Although I don't care that he is a man of faith in relation to him being president, I do like that he stands by what he believes. I also like that he can actually speak without a teleprompter.

Now for your second option, yes I am dissatisfied. Romney is such a watered down typical generic candidate for the GOP it's sick. Our country can't afford business as usual anymore. Bachman is completely unqualified, as is our current president, and I prefer some real executive experience. Ron Paul doesn't have a snowballs chance to win it, although I agree with a lot of what he says. We the people just want someone who at least appears real, and I see that in Perry.

So he appears real and stands by what he does. That's why? Even if he runs a terrible deficit and stands by it?

it does seem strange that the deficit would be this high if that many jobs were being created.
