No, it's not. They have compassion for domestic animals and for animals held in zoos. There is nothing wrong with that. They simply overreached in this instance, because UGA is such a high profile animal and they wanted publicity.I feel it's an acceptable use of the Twitter Vol Army, or TVA if you will, to go blow up PETA's Twitter feed in defense of our hated (with love) brethren to the South.
Peta is a represenatation of everything wrong in this country

That isn't true. They love publicity and they often do overreach but I would take that all day long over people who starve and mistreat their dogs.
I have seen such records as this, and it should be pointed out that PETA has disputed their validity.
71.7% kill rate for dogs and cats that they take in per Virginia records. Tell me again how PETA "loves animals".
Speaking from my own experience from owning an English bulldog from 15-22 years ago, they come with serious health concerns. Hip problems, heart problems and skin problems are the norm. Their respiratory system is compromised, so it is very risky to anesthetize them if they need surgery. You also have to be careful to keep them out of hot weather. They have to be kept in an air-conditioned environment and supervised. They become overheated very easily. That is probably the most needy breed that there is. They can't even breed without assistance (I'm not kidding!).He looks tired to me, not miserable. Plus if you took a picture of me watching a game in the rain, I'd probably look miserable too.

I understand the sentiment and I agree that they love publicity and overreached here... but what a lot of people who have never owned an English Bulldog don't understand is, that environment isn't luxury. In fact, it's essential if you are going to keep him outside in the warm weather. That is a very expensive and hard dog to keep. I will never own another one or recommend it.They chose to criticize an entity's treatment of an animal, an entity where said animal is treated better than in all most any environment that animal could live in.
They are effing morons, and can suck it.
