From a variety of sources I have heard animal professionals say that PETA is about the worst thing that happen to an animal short of full blown abuse.

I have heard different things. I'm not sure what to believe, frankly. I have never donated any money to them. I do give (a little) to the ASPCA.

Yep, they love them so much they steal pets off family property, violate state laws by putting them down within hours instead of the usual waiting period so the family doesn’t have time to get their pooch back

Way off topic but Anthony Edwards is the real deal for UGA. 28 2nd half points vs Michigan State and some great assists. They have overcome a 61-33 deficit and cut the lead to 80-76. Great game in Maui.

No, it's not. They have compassion for domestic animals and for animals held in zoos. There is nothing wrong with that. They simply overreached in this instance, because UGA is such a high profile animal and they wanted publicity.

I have compassion for animals. I have animals. I have no compassion for morons who try to further their pathetic agendas by trolling for attention.
PETA is trash. I respect what it should stand for, but not for what it is.

I have seen such records as this, and it should be pointed out that PETA has disputed their validity.

They do pit a lot of dogs down that have cancer, etc. I don't know the stats, but they do euthanize dogs that are alive but suffering. I don't like their stance on Pits.

Speaking from my own experience from owning an English bulldog from 15-22 years ago, they come with serious health concerns. Hip problems, heart problems and skin problems are the norm. Their respiratory system is compromised, so it is very risky to anesthetize them if they need surgery. You also have to be careful to keep them out of hot weather. They have to be kept in an air-conditioned environment and supervised. They become overheated very easily. That is probably the most needy breed that there is. They can't even breed without assistance (I'm not kidding!).[/QUOTE.
