PETA vs UGA

No, it's not. They have compassion for domestic animals and for animals held in zoos. There is nothing wrong with that. They simply overreached in this instance, because UGA is such a high profile animal and they wanted publicity.

Peta has been known to steal pets and murder them. I wouldn't call that compassion but you do you.

By overreaching they will turn off people in general who may agree or support their good works.

There are good organizations out there that are against animal cruelty. PETA is not one of them. It seems every few years they come up with something absurd. My personal favorite was a few years ago they went after Mario for wearing a raccoon fur. Really surprised they are not going after other animal mascots as well.

71.7% kill rate for dogs and cats that they take in per Virginia records. Tell me again how PETA "loves animals".
Smothered in bbq sauce.

Puck FETA. They're the reason we no longer bring our live bears to games even though we have built a Class C (zoo) habitat for them. They are by far the most visited attraction on campus.

Speaking from my own experience from owning an English bulldog from 15-22 years ago, they come with serious health concerns. Hip problems, heart problems and skin problems are the norm. Their respiratory system is compromised, so it is very risky to anesthetize them if they need surgery. You also have to be careful to keep them out of hot weather. They have to be kept in an air-conditioned environment and supervised. They become overheated very easily. That is probably the most needy breed that there is. They can't even breed without assistance (I'm not kidding!).
After reading your post, I would suggest that the English bulldog is a very appropriate mascot for UGA.

Might be the first time I've ever pulled for the Bulldogs

Do they even know that dog house has HVAC. Or the painstaking pedigree lineage their mascots come from. UGA (the dog) is a cool mascot and has a choice life.

Must not be scared of ya'll like they are of LSU. Don't see PETA trolling the LSU Bengal cage.

They've convenced the Feds we need to build a Class C zoo at every venue we want to take the bears to. This is the reason that Houston no longer has a live cougar (Shasta).

I'm glad that LSU has the nads to tell them to F off.

Did anyone notice on the SEC Network promo loop yesterday they showed poor Uga being petted by three Georgia cheerleaders? I wish I had it that bad. PETA lol

No doubt about it. I would gladly roll over and let them rub my belly!

Yep. Tired of their schtick. Hope UGA tells them where to stick it. Same for the cancel culture looking to cancel shows/movies. You come after Rudolph and you better bring help.
