I don’t like OSU at all and I love Tennessee; however how many spots should OSU have dropped by losing their first game?

Tennessee dropped 4 spots when they lost to Georgia.

OSU lost and dropped 3 spots “only” because LSU crapped the bed.

Tennessee didn’t lose real badly however they were never competitive in that game (Georgia gsme)

OSU did lose badly however they were competitive through 3 quarters (OSU up 10-3 through 1, OSU up 20-17 at half, OSU down 20-24 after 3).

Again no OSU fan, but they shouldn’t have dropped more than 3 (because LSU lost and everyone gained a spot).

I think when you play no one all year and you get beat that bad at home they should have prob dropped to 7th their best win is Penn state and Penn states best win is no one . We should move to the big ten

But if the committee is saying full body of work, what about the rest of the schedule?? The 2 losses & 2 top 14 wins are only a quarter of the season. Does the other 8 games not matter??

Per the rankings at the time games were played, UT is 5-1 against top 25 on the season, OSU is 2-1. Bama is 3-2. THat's 6 games verses ranked opponents. Bama and TCU have 5. No other team in the top 7 have more than 3.

at some point our AD needs to call out the BS that goes on behind the scenes with this stuff. i'd gladly the suffer consequences as a fan if that happened.

the fact that bama is even in the conversation of a playoff appearance is so ludicrous i can't even comprehend it. they lost to us and they lost to the SEC championship representative from the west (who we also beat) and now there's a legitimate path to a championship for them? they get to sit at home and rest up and casually stroll into a playoff?

SC game should have no bearing on this matter when it comes to ranking. A win is a win and a loss is a loss.
TN and Bama have the same record. SoS should be looked at but I'd say if SoS is within 5-10 places of each other move on to Head to Head. We beat them. That should be the difference maker there, full stop, no need to follow the flow chart, but lets say TN and Bama didn't play each other, look at the teams in common played. SC isn't one of them which is why they shouldn't even matter other than it was a loss. We beat LSU, they lost to LSU. We both beat Vandy by 56 points, Bama beat them by 52. Out of the 2 teams we have in common, we beat both they didn't
Only time a points should even be considered for thought in this situation is if none of the other stuff is met.

To me that’s offset by the LSU comparison. Bama list to LSU by 1. We beat LSU by 27 with both games at LSU. Everything is so close that I don’t see how head to head isn’t the final push to rank us over Bama.
