Peter White

Funniest thread in a long while.
While I am not one for picking on a 15 year old, NEWCOACH does come on a board with adults so if he gets yacked at, then he should make a comeback, come with credibility or stop posting nonsense in general.

There are people on here who are jerks in general and we all know who they are.

The Vols will be getting a visit from Washington D.C. offensive lineman, Peter White, this week....6-foot5, 340 pounds.

He says he'll be narrowing his list of suitors to a final 5, and says UT and Maryland are the only 2 schools guaranteed a spot in that final 5. His offer list also includes Florida, Oregon, VT, Penn St., Pitt, Miami and NC State.

Rivals ranks him the #6 offensive guard in the country...he's also rated as the strongest lineman in the country.

Get em & put him on the D line! We got some great talent at OL, but I think someone said we need some DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

This is great news. I'd rather keep him an OL so we can have Jaques McClendon, Vlad Richards, and this guy who is also very strong. If all 3 were on the OL at the same time it'd be hard to stop the run.

OK, so put Peter White at guard & move those other hauses to the D line. Most of these cats play off & def in HS anyway.

We definitely need to keep this guy on the OL. It seems like every OL prospect we talk about, people want to throw them on the DL. Yes, we need DL but some of these OL might not be worth a crap on the DL. I personally would rather have a good OL than try to force him to play a postion that he can't play.

Keep this guy on the OL. IN two years, we will be losing a lot of good OL. Keep this guy at guard and let him be a difference maker OG.

Plus his strength might finally get our running game back to dominating the SEC like we used to do. We'd love a big beasty like this guy to replace our already good OL

Agreed. Get back to the days where our OL would really plow the road for our running game

Here is ESPN's evaluation of Peter and we are in his Top 5:
"White will end up playing offensive guard in the future. He is a huge three hundred forty four pounder that really needs to trim down n order to be productive as an offensive lineman. Gives good effort but just can't be a finisher or be effective as a downfield blocker carrying his current weight. Powerful coming off the ball and delivers with his hands an upper body. Can move a base technique defensive lineman off the ball but has trouble if the defender slants or angles. Knee bending is difficult and hips are too high. Does a decent job of zone blocking; takes good first step and he will maul any one in the way. Really gives effort trying to pull and often does get a hit on the defender. Effective double-teamer. Plows upfield making the off tackle play easy to run. Must pass protect from the "two" point stance when playing tackle to have any chance of success. Has to line up as deep as allowed and only give the rusher a one way go; outside. Needs to force defender over the top; can't give the rusher the chance to go inside. White is a big and powerful man that likes to play the game and really hustles. He can be a good player if he loses some weight and works on foot quickness. If he doesn't, he'll be limited to the guard position."

I remember our old strength and conditioning guy (Stuckey?...was that his name?) saying he could care less about stars and recruiting rankings...all he wanted was to get them in the weight room as soon as they get here and see where they are....

So him being the strongest OL in the country would probably bode well for him if he chose to come here....seeing how the current S & C guy is a Stuckey(?) disciple(sp)

Alot of people on Rivals main board actually think he will commit on his visit. Uhoh, seems like this staff might actually know how to recruit.

If he did, would that close things down? Would they back of Moses or keep going after him with plans to move one or more of these guys to D?

You never back off a player like Moses. They may ease up on some other players but definately not Moses.
