No you don't. I used to live in both Arizona and Nevada. In some of these little out of the way desert towns they had mean spirited sheriffs and deputies who got away with violating your rights and ethics. Long, mostly empty roads tempted one to speed as high as 100+mph if heading for California, or maybe Las Vegas. It wasn't uncommon for these law enforcers to pull over over a speeding driver, an out of towner, especially if you were a Mexican-American or other minority member. They'd either make you place your hands on the hood of your car or lie down on the pavement while the checked your license, registration, etc and took their sweet time about it. This during summer months. People actually did have their palm or cheek skin peel from the hot surfaces.
Refusing to do what they said resulted in you being handcuffed and pushed to the ground, ordered to stay or be arrested for assaulting an officer or some other trumped up charge. Places like in Arizona like Gila Bend and Yuma, in Nevada like Indian Springs and Fallon or Pahrump got hot enough for you to feel the heat through your shoes if you stood in one place for just a few moments. Now, I know your statement was hyperbole but just wanted you to know what happens if you really did subject or was forced to subject yourself to such cooking.
