Peyton breaks TD record

Peyton actually has a higher QB rating in the playoffs than Brady. Interesting stat is Manning's defense allowed 3.2 more points per game than Brady's. If you flip those numbers it is relevant in 4 games for Manning which would make his record 13-7. It is relevant in 7 games for Brady which would make his record 10-14. Both are great QBs, but Brady has been on better defensive and better coached teams.

True. However Peyton has been on vastly better offensive teams. He has also had the better offensive line. Peyton is the second least sacked QB in NFL history. Brady is 21st in that category. Montana is even worse than both, he is ranked 43rd. Other than a couple of years, Peyton has had much better offensive weapons than Brady.

So Brady has had a slightly better defense with a better coach. While Peyton has had the better offensive weapons, better offensive line and OC.

Look at this season, Peyton has what could be considered the greatest WR corps in NFL history and his stats show it. He is breaking all the records. But look what Brady is doing with significantly less. All I am saying is I don't see signifacant evidence for Peyton being the GOAT yet. Can he get there? I hope so. Will he? Doubtful. Regardless of what some will say that does not mean I am it a Peyton fan.

You do realize that recognizing coverages and getting the ball out quickly is a huge factor in sacks. When the QB is calling the right protection and averages getting the ball out in 2.5 seconds or so it makes an OL's job a lot easier.

in his interview for SI Sportsman of the Year..
He said there was one piece of advice his dad gave him early on, to get rid of the ball quick to keep from getting hit and sacked

I have looked at what Brady is doing with significantly less this year.....

1. Significantly less passing yds, about 1000
2. Significantly less td passes, 27... yes, 27

Only because he was the QB on those teams.

If you flipped their teams, Peyton probably has more SBs than Montana, and Brady would struggle to make the playoffs year-in and year-out. /debate.

Brady went down suddenly and the Pats were 6 games over 0.500. Peyton went down with time to prepare, and the Colts lucked into two victories.

And, anyone throwing around "greatest receiving corp of all-time" and not immediately saying "Joe Montana" has simply lost the plot.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I sure want to think it is. Peyton is an admirable person.

Hahaha lolololol. When Peyton spent the year injured, his team went 2-14. Brady's abscense didn't seem to affect the Patriots in 2008. The Pats actually dropped off in 2009 after getting Brady back.

This times a whole bunch. Manning is THE reason why those Colt offenses (and now the Broncos offense) were so great.

This receiver group is not even close to the best in the league right now and definitely not in history. They benefit from Manning. They do not have a dominant game changing receiver or tight-end. Thomas is good but he is not a feared receiver like Julio Jones, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Dez Bryant, or Megatron. I look at what Brady is doing and he is not in the ballpark of Manning this season.

Also, with Manning at QB, Moreno's career has been resurrected.

Since 2002, Brady has had 3 offensive linemen make all-pro while Manning has had 2. Since 2002, the yardage and point differential on the offensive side of the ball is something like 15 yards per game and .2 points per game in Manning's advantage. During this same span, Brady's defense has given up almost 3 points per game less. I don't think anyone would question who has had better coaches during that span.

Peyton got the Colts to the Super Bowl with Jim Caldwell at the helm...Sean Payton showed what a well coached team can do against a rudderless talented squad...Brady has NEVER had that disadvantage

Great point Butch. NE is arguably the best run professional sports team with the best head coach in the past 15 years. Whatever they're doing, whatever their system, whatever the magic they have is unique to them. They do it better than any other team. Brady is a huge part of that, but he's not THE part like Peyton was at Indy.....it's widely accepted that Belichick is the key to NE's success. Nobody's ever gonna confuse Jim Caldwell or Tony Dungy for Bill Belichick.

I admit Peyton is badass but to say the Colts were bad solely because he was gone isn't completely true. They had Painter and Orlovsky as QB's. What did you expect. Then enter an actual QB in Luck and they were a playoff team. I think the fact they had worse backups at QB was the reason they sucked so bad over it being because Peyton was not playing.
