You don't get it...It not the fact he wore it against the Jags, Its the fact he wore it this YEAR and he is having one hell of a year....Manning is quickly becoming the greatest QB ever in the NFL and this jersey will only increase in value to a select number of people who can afford it...It is clearly an investment and like doc said it will only increase in value over time.

Becoming? Please, from a Dawg fan, I will give that title to him right now. Big fan of his since he has been in the league.

As for memorabilia, some will never get it and make dumb comments as a result. Some don't see the significance in having a historic sports icon grace field of play in a jersey and then having the chance to own that jersey as a piece of history.

That's your choice. Never mind that if he wins the Super Bowl this year....and he's a virtual shoe in for his record 5th league MVP .....this jersey goes up even more. In 10 years when he walks into Canton on the first ballot, this shirt goes for $50K. Just some things to consider.

I have little to add, except that I think this is a hobby/investment I am very envious of and that I think owning any Manning paraphernalia will one day be a super smart investment. I have yet to encounter someone who doesn't think highly of Payton. He is the ambassador of the league right now, and has been for several years.

I'm not DL, but Steiner is the way to go. I got a steal on a UT Manning jersey there earlier this year.

Mounted Memories is also a good fallback imo. I'm partial to Schwartz Sports (they have an exclusive contract with Barry Sanders -- and are basically a smaller version of Steiner out of Chicago), but they don't have any Manning helmets that i see. Their prices on ebay are a lot better than their store prices. So check them out as well. They negotiate like champs on the "best offer" ebay option.

Thanks for the heads up - I just bought one off Ebay -- I wonder how limited they really are -- there is only 1 left from the seller that had them.
