I chose Brady because it always boils down to Superbowl victories. I don't like Brady, I don't like the team he plays for nor his head coach. That's secondary, however, to the fact that they have 3 Superbowl Championships out of 4 trips.

Peyton always seems to be able to do less with more. He could never beat Florida while at UT and his gaudy NFL regular season statistics are balanced out by atrocious post-season stats. He seems to be getting to the point now where is body can no longer work as fast as his brain.

Quick, which one is which?

QB 1 - 435/692 for 5,164 yards (7.46 YPA), 28 TD to 19 INT, 23 rushes for 29 yards and 3 TDs
QB 2 - 395/637 for 4,108 yards (6.45 YPA), 28 TD to 15 INT, 42 rushes for 68 yards and 2 TDs

don't know and don't care. Mannng's playoff record is dreadful (which I probably should have stated instead of his stats).

Brady is doing awesome right now. He has a great offensive line, a very good running game, healthy receivers, and a defense in the top 20 of points surrendered.

Manning has none of that. Earlier in the year, Manning had healthy WR's and he tore it up. 311 yards/game, 15 TD's an only 2 INT's. Manning was doing more with less earlier in the year. Now that he has even less than that he's actually struggling. Turns out he's mortal.

Brady's 3 Super Bowl rings say he is.

And I agree.

I've never liked the association of team accomplishments with individual accomplishments. You take the best player you want (ever, from any era, won't matter) and put them on a lousy team and you're probably not getting anywhere near the playoffs, nevermind a SB. For that matter, why does (or didn't) "Player X" not win a SB every year until they retire(d)? Because it's a team sport.

I won't pretend to know how much difference it would make if you just swapped the two and I'm quite certain nobody else does either. There is one thing I know for an absolute fact...neither Brady nor Manning has ever won a SB. In fact, neither has ever so much as won a single game. The Pats and Colts have won a whole bunch of games, including SB's, with those two playing large roles in those team's success but they were still team wins.

Brady is so good because his recievers are great ( Welker, Branch, Tate, & 2 rookie TE's ), he has a great running game ( Woodhead & BGE were neither drafted ), their OL is so great ( only 1 of their OL were drafted in the top 3 rounds ).

But their defense is so good, 2 of their best DL are out for the season, they are playing with a rookie DB & 3 2nd year DB's, you cant name 1 LB on the team beside Jerod Mayo.

The defense is rated last or below 15th in almost every single category. But it's because Brady has all these weapons.

Yes, Brady plays in a system. A winning system, but it's a system. Matt Cassell stepped in and put up crazy numbers for a season. He typically has a better cast around him on O than Peyton (though I find this debatable at times -- look at the careers of numerous Pats who leave New England).

In spite of all this, Brady is on pace to have the most successful career of any NFL qb ever. EVER. That speaks for itself.

The Colts are dead last in rushing and 29th against the rush. That's a very bad combination. An NFL defense that can pretty much stifle your running game while playing pass defense is not a pleasant assingment for an offense. If you're going to compete against playoff teams you're now stuck with absolutely requiring a positively superlative passing game. That's not happening for the Colts with the key injuries. Having Addai would be helpful at RB but it's going without Collie and especially Clark that's killing Indy. When you simply MUST throw, and prolifically at that, while the defense is basically waiting for you to do so...that's just a tough road.

The Pats need Brady to be very good right now, and for the most part he's succeeding. The Colts right now need Manning to be superhuman...he's not.

One thing I'll say... JMO

If they switched places in like 2002, Manning would have continued to have ridiculous success the entire time

Brady I don't think would have as easily.

Yes, New England outscouts all other NFL teams, easily. They've had the best pass protection for a good many years, now. It's preposterous Ben Jarvis wasn't drafted and the two tight ends they got are great. Tate was a stud that likely would have gone higher without an injury.
