How does Peyton not leave Indianapolis?!

-They can't block for him
-Defense is horrible at stopping the run EVERY YEAR(and defense wins championships)
-Bill Pollians sucks(he's literally half and half on some of draft picks and he keeps wanting to do this "we'll let them run on us and let Peyton do all the work)
-Peyton's pretty much proved that he make receivers out of anyone
-Jim Caldwell's not that good of coach
-Tennessee's got an opening and it's about due for Jeff Fisher to win a championship :)

I've never seen a franchise depend so much on their quarterback!

I think theres a reason P. Manning hasn't signed a contract with the Colts already.....I'll leave it at that.

I wonder how many Colts fans here would still be Colts fans if the Titans had him?

I would love to see Peyton in tn but I don't see it happening. Although if I were him I would definitely get out of indy

Is it me or is Peyton a smart guy.. He has built that franchise twice, without any help from their front office.... He is tired of being the end all be all of Ind. He wants Tom Brady type teams around him....and he could pick his next team.

if he doesn't reach a deal before CBA expiration I'd almost expect him to be franchise tagged

...though really with no CBA he couldn't sign with any other teams anyways.

So maybe they're just doing a "wait it out" to give him a new contract once exactly how NFL contracts are done becomes fully defined again

Too my knowledge he couldn't even be franchised, the CBA would wipe that option out too if I'm not mistaken.

well the AFC South chat made at least some mention of it, but yeah there is uncertainty there and maybe with everyone:

Fred (Johnson City, TN)

Paul, if March 4 arrives and Manning does not have a contract with the Colts, what is his status?

Paul Kuharsky (3:29 PM)

He's locked out. They may be able to put a franchise tag on him before that, I am not certain. But they are not at any risk during the lockout, And he's not going anywhere anyway.

I agree he's not going anywhere

They can't "franchise" him if he's not under contract........

Franchise tags are placed right before the date where a player would enter free agency....and it's really not the player's choice in the matter either whether he is or isn't
