Peyton

To play devil's advocate, it's not like peyton has not had this problem his whole career (college and pro).

Some of thew blame falls on him. Look up how many times the colts have been 1 and done in the playoffs....with the game being at home.

Unheard of for a hall of fame qb. He needs to look in the mirror too

Peyton Manning is the only reason the 2010 Colts were even in the playoffs. He also led a drive that should have won that game. The Colts' defense is a combination of inept and injured this year, so they couldn't close the deal with less than a minute left. Some of their playoff losses through the years can be pinned on him, but I don't think he should take any heat for this one.

Is it me or is Peyton a smart guy.. He has built that franchise twice, without any help from their front office.... He is tired of being the end all be all of Ind. He wants Tom Brady type teams around him....and he could pick his next team.

well, your second sentence just doesn't make any sense to me at all, but I'm not focusing on that.

I'm focusing on the Tom Brady part. You're saying he wants a team featuring two WRs that no one else in the league wanted and two undrafted RBs?

I know he'll get in. He's a no doubter who will get in on the 1st ballot no problem.

But, he aint close to the best ever.

Sorry

This makes little sense. He isn't the best ever, but being top few means close.

This silliness about playoff losses isn't the answer. He has been on exactly zero teams that should have won the SB.

He doesn't have much help in Indy. They had too many injuries this year. No much of a running game and not much defense either. I'd want some guarantees if i were him going forward.

I looked it up not too long ago that in the last 20 years there's been a grand total of two SB winners that had neither a top 10 rushing game or defense. That would be Brady's '01 Pats and Manning's '06 Colts...go figure. The Colts nearly pulled if off again last year being dead last in rushing and the #18D.

The COLTS are one and done. They aren't balanced enough to win in the playoffs, it's a wonder how they even have one superbowl

They were one touchback away from winning that game with one of the most decimated rosters to ever enter the playoffs. If they had all their weapons available this season, nobody would be concerned about their "balance".

Not a ludicrous post.

Check hall of fame qb's and their home playoff records.

Compare it with peyton.

Dude has been 1 and done several times in the playoffs with the games being at home

Colts had no business being in the playoffs with the losses they had, the running game they had, and the defense they had.

like marino's dolphins......

is peyton partly at fault for the colts rushing game? they don't make a commitment to run and aren't a power team, so why would anyone expect them to be a good rushing team. they run the ball to keep a pass rush honest and that's about it.

is that on peyton? the franchise? the coaching staff?.....for not making a commitment to run the football.

it's a franchise that had edgerrin james at one time.

Regardless....Peyton is better than any QB Florida has put in the NFL

Donald brown and Jo addai were both top picks. Manning will run the ball every game. He'd be stupid to keep doing it too often with 2 Ypc.

This. Plus he's a Hank Baskett blown catch from having two.

I wonder what Manning's playoff record would be if he'd had somebody like Belichick on the sideline his whole career instead of Jim Mora, Tony Dungy, and Jim Caldwell?

would the size of his contract at all impair any of the other positions or side of the ball (defense) that Belicheck tends to focus on in his teams?

Good question but it's not like Brady has made chump change and his recent extension is 18mil per year.

I know. But he still only made 6th round money for several seasons didn't he?...I seem to think he turned down a higher paying extension or renegotiation earlier on as well

Isn't it funny how anytime Peyton loses a playoff game he "chokes" in big games. Yet Brady went 18-0 and got to the super bowl and lost, had a home playoff games the last 2 years and lost both. Two home games and lost both the first game they play. Brady had some great defenses when he won his super bowls, he hasn't done anything without guys like Law, Harrison Seymour and Bruschi on defense. So had Brady choked his last 3 playoff games?
