Peyton is obviously a smart QB, BUT he did not make a smart decision in signing with Denver!!!! He could have signed with SF or SEA, but he went for the glamorous offense team instead of choosing a team that had the Defense to win a Super Bowl. If he would have signed with SF, we would probably be talking about Peyton Manning, a 3 time Super Bowl winner.

The problem with Peyton is how much salary cap space he eats up. Neither of those teams could have held their rosters together with is cap number.

Simply not true, when he signed with Denver they had the best D in the league that year. An older D but they had carried the broncos to the second round of the playoffs (please, no what about Tebow comments). I honestly wish he would have signed with the Titans.

At least he did not go to the Tennessee Titans, who HAD an owner who was not dedicated to winning...

Lol what was glamorous about the Broncos offense before Peyton? Their defense was the best in the league.

The rage I had when he didn't sign with the Titans...so much of it.

He has better recievers in Denver than he would have with the Titans, so I don't fault him TBH.

When he signed with the broncos maybe but now I would say the Titans have the edge either way I'm still mad about him not signing with us, granted I understand his situation at the time I just thought he would love to be back home.

Captain Hindsight TO THE RESCUE!

If only Peyton Manning had signed with the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks with the #9 team defense, knowing that it the unit would become one of the strongest in history within 24 months, he'd have a Super Bowl ring!

Wow- it is hard being a lifetime Tennessean and cheer for the Vols and Titans. The Titans board call me a stupid East TN hillbilly (even though I am a middle TN college professor) and the Volboard shoots down the Titans. What is a fella to do?

Never go on Titans boards (love the team, but man their message boards are just bad) and continue rooting for them?

I would disagree with the WR assessment. I would say they're relatively close. With Kendell Wright and Nate Washington, along with Delanie Walker and bright new rookie Justin Hunter. Chris Johnson also had a nice year receiving though the run game ultimately suffered- talent wise its a really good core group of players with the right QB could be great. WR wasn't the problem this year for the Titans. With Peyton Titans WRs would improve drastically statistically. Early in the year the Titans looked like a decent team 3-1, but after Locker's injury they only won 4 more games out of 12. The Titans had a better defense then Denver this year despite have an offense that was very anemic with Fitzpatrick at the helm. As Seahawks showed it takes defense to win Championships. While the Titans defense wasn't on the same caliber level as the Seahawks, obviously, I believe defensively and offensively the pieces were there for a very good season one piece was missing a QB.
