Hows does the $28 mil come into play when it comes to other teams? I dont know rules on trading but Id bet he wont play for the Colts next season.
He can not be traded because the league year starts after his bonus is due, no way they pay him 28 mil then trade him. And they can't move the due date of the bonus. So its either they keep or release him.
You mean the Alex Smith who was robbed of his chance to get to the Superbowl because of a fumble on a punt return or that one that beat the Hi octane Saints offense?
You cant be serious.
Thanks for the explanation. So if he's released can he go to any team? Does the $28 Mil come into play?
Call me nuts  but I could see Manning wind up in Miami. The Heat went out and signed James and Bosh. The Marlins just spent a boatload this off season to drum up interest in their kick-@ss new park.
I could see the Phins breaking the bank to get Manning. I don't know how the $28 mill comes into play (if the Colts can eat part of that as in baseball).
San Fran would be a very viable scenario for Peyton. If he is tired of seeing his beloved Cowboys relegated to mediocrity after three Super Bowl championships in the '90s, Jerry Jones certainly has the cash to afford Peyton. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense as Tony Romo is a top-8 calibre QB but can you see the Cowboys enjoying any postseason success under his leadership?
No way another team pays his signing bonus. Released or retired only options here.
Titans will gamble big time and bring him to Nashville, where Vols fans will take over the stadium every home game. But Peyton will demand they obtain quality receivers so they may have to gulp and swallow hard to get some big time free agent guys or get receivers by hook or crook.
