PFF: Kamal Hadden grades as the 4th best P5 CB

You mad bro? A&M has already lost 3 games. Their QB is awful. A good game against FL? FL was blown out by KY who was blown out by Missouri and FL lost to a Utah team that was playing a 3rd string QB. Also, it wasn’t just Hadden that shut down Legette. We doubled teamed him, because Juice Wells was out.

The result was they had another receiver with over 100 yards receiving, but we still shut them down relatively speaking.

AGAIN, this is a team sport. You can’t just blame one person or give one person all the credit. Hadden is playing much better, but his past performance was NOT good prior to this season and we have yet to play Georgia or Alabama.

Did some of that have to do with lack of DL pressure last year? Sure. But everyone knows how bad he was playing, and he’s definitely playing better.

I think Missouri, KY, GA and Bama are better than any team we have faced and he, along with the rest of our D will be tested by all of them.

I’m rooting for Hadden, but I’m not going on a weak schedule. We will see.

UK better than A&M?

🤣🤣🤣

Dude is our best cover corner. He is locking all teams. Which if our competition sucks like you say and I'm saying he's damn elite, then him shutting down our opponents would mean I'm right? Bc an elite corner should shut down poop teams.

We will see. Elite is a strong vote for someone who has been subpar for the bulk of his career and has not played well against an elite team. Not even close. I hope you end up right and can thumb your nose at everyone.

Maybe so. He isn’t much of a tackler, but he has had some good moments s of late. Looking at the PFF grades, you can see how good the defensive line is and how much easier they are making the lives of the rest of the defense. Pierce, Eason, and Baron have consistently graded very highly. If you can win with four, defense is easy.
He is a corner back not a safety.....cover corners that are good-great tacklers are VERY rare. zone guys less rare. IF a corner is getting enough opportunities to tackle to be great hes probably not very good at man coverage

Thanks for the pep talk. Don't need you patronizing me. Just agree to disagree. I say he's good, you say he's not. Be ok my man.

So who should we trust? The fan that's angry about something from last year or the fan that's angry from a month ago. If only there was unbiased publication that watched games and graded players based on their play. Such a conundrum to be in.
You ever wondered how they watch every game and evaluate every player?

I tend to agree with your assessment of him. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that BS attempt or lack of attempt to tackle the FL rb on the long TD run.

Watch the game, it’s not hard to tell if a guy is playing solid football or has some things to work on. Clearly, Hadden has potential, is he perfect?

Not really, but he’s been the most consistent cover guy for the Vols through six games this season. That being said, he still needs to work on his tackling.

A&M is at least equal to Mizzou and UK. Talent-wise they’re closer to Bama than UM and UK. Bama is a notch above A&M and UGA is a notch above Bama.

Why do people act like the only way to be a fan is to sunshine pump.
Well I can’t answer that but maybe it’s what my daddy use to tell me that stuck with me.
“If you ain’t all in get out of my f****** foxhole”

Literally just took one reply to try and take away the season Hadden is having.

We have some absolutely miserable fans.
There are some fans IMO an opinion only, they really don't watch the games closely and/or go back and watch replays or whatever it takes to really grade a player. I think mostly they listen to their loudest friend, that they think knows football and they repeat their friends take to be a part of the conversation. Also some see/hear one sound byte by a sportscaster that may be seeing the team play only one time and they get on a subject/player that may be on one bad play and they talk about it ad nauseam because they need to fill air time. That becomes an identity.
Then there are ppl that just love to accentuate the negative and eliminate the positive, its just makes them feel better in place, it is what it is.
Fan is short for Fanatic as we all know.:D

I mean I was angry as hell about Florida too. But the guy has been solid lately. He comes up big against Bama and some of our fans will have to STFU.

Almost all cover corners historically are bad tacklers. Even in the NFL. The good tacklers tend to zone/boundary corners and Nickleback/stars. Its weird how so many hard core football fans dont understand how certain positions work. Like when they complain a nose tackle isn't getting a lot of sacks/tackles. Its not his job.. he eats up blocks so the linebackers can make the tackles. A cover corner's job is to make sure catches don't get made....if he is tackling someone it means he failed to stop a catch or the front 7 failed their job and let a back penetrate into the secondary.

Yeah I’m not too concerned with talent. We saw what Jones did with talent.
