Phantom flag early in the early 3rd

I’m not sure how the greatest conference has the worst refs in college football. It’s a joke at this point.
I don’t know how that w/ this much money invested into the game of college football that the conferences are still employing officials who are real estate agents 6 days a week and head officials for the biggest games in college football the other 1 day. College football is the second most watched sport in the country, there’s no reason, especially in the SEC’s and B1G’s case that they can’t hire full time officials w/ benefits. Make it their profession, not their hobby .

I thought the worse call was the personal foul hit above the shoulders in the 4th qtr that extended the drive for OU in our redzone. Basically just grazed the QB's helmet with his hand after jumping up to try to bat the pass down. Even the officiating guru the broadcast team relies on thought it was weak.

It was weak…he was going after the ball and his hand glanced off his helmet…you could even say QB caused it by trying to get away.
They need to review those things. The PI call
On Gibson was weak too. My biggest surprise was how in the hell did they not receive one holding penalty with all the pressure we were applying.

The hold that negated the big play early in the 3rd was technically a hold but it didn't impact the play and is one of those "this happens on every play and isn't usually called". Refs also couldn't get the number right which IMO is even more suspect that it was just one of those "I don't know, just call out a number" kind of calls and there just so happened to be a very very very light hold. See here:

This one... I still don't understand. They flagged Kitselman for "illegal touching" which should mean he wasn't lined up correctly. The play starts here:

He looks like he's in good position. This was actually a very important drive as OU just scored.

Kitselman was lined up correct, but Squirrel was not. He was down on the line and should have been off, thus covering up kitselman and making him ineligible.

This was the worst call of the game I think. There needs to be an option for incidental contact to negate the need for a penalty there.

The outside jobs also open them up to influence as well. It’s just such a bad system right now. I can’t believe they haven’t addressed this yet

I would love to see the difference in flags for home teams vs road teams in SEC last 3 seasons. There's always home cooking in the SEC, but man it just gets worse in each year.

I think they called out the wrong number. The hold was actually on 76, Spragins. I saw it rewatching tonight. It wasn’t much, but he did wrap and release. Should not have been called.
Yea, that was my take when they showed the replay…refs get the wrong number from time to time. With as much trouble as we were having dealing with their rush, it wasn’t a surprise to get a holding call on a play where Nico held the ball a little longer and rolled out…

Spraggins (I think?) did hold on that play. I think Nico probably could’ve still got that pass off if he hadn’t held. 2 refs threw a flag simultaneously for that hold.

I also rewatched the game and different guys on our defensive line were being grabbed and pulled down...I don't think there were any flags thrown the whole game...How is that possible?

Also, I wish Squirrell could stay on his feet when he catches a ball...It's become comical.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist, but as much money as Disney is paying to take over sports (ESPN, ESPN+, ABC, The company is in the midst of finalizing an agreement with Fox Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery to launch a sports streaming service that will carry games from the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL.)

I am starting to believe they are paying the NCAA to keep games competitive and casual viewers from changing the channel.

Not to mention, the new clock procedures that have done nothing but give us more commercials. I openly noticed and even commented last night and NC State about how many commercial breaks there seemed to be.
Raise your hand if you are sick of this dude.

Just rewatched the game. The hold on Karic that brought back a big play to Thornton was garbage. Between that and the referee spots, one would think they were trying to keep the Sooners in the game
If we didn’t complete that pass, I can guarantee they wouldn’t have thrown that flag.

He was lined up incorrectly, can't fault the refs for throwing the flag. Our TE and WR were both on the line of scrimmage which made the TE ineligible

I've noticed that ever since he's been on the team. The dude cannot catch a long pass without falling down. He does it on almost all long balls. He either falls down or runs out of bounds after the catch. I'm glad someone else sees this besides me.

I guess our coaching staff is just happy with the catch.

Some crappy calls. But the stops at the end zone were properly corrected.
I think the zebras are just s****y at their jobs.

If you go back and look at Nico's second fumble, the OU player did the exact same thing to Nico. Hit Nico's facemask before he knocked the ball loose. It was solid hit, not just a brush.
