I've been lurking on this board for the past week and just had my first post about 10-15 minutes ago. I'm not on here to flame, but I honestly believe the Gators win this game by 14+. Meyer has the team very confident right now and fans can tell the "swagger" is back. There are plenty of other reasons why I feel the Gators will win by such a large margin, but they all add up to two things - better coaching and better talent. I feel you guys are going to come out sky high and playing with an enormous amount of emotion. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if you guys go up 7-0 right off the bat. That being said, if the Gators can "weather the storm" initially, our superior talent and coaching will eventually take over.

If by some chance I'm wrong and the Vols win, I promise to make my way back to this board excuse free and say, "Good game - congrats". Until then, I'll go with this:

Gators 41

Vols 24

Ainge - 230 yards passing

After reading this thread twice now, I can't help but think how much these predictions would have differed IF Air Force would have made that 2 point conversion....

Something to ponder.

In that case we would have proven we could drive the length of the field in the final minute to kick a field goal and win by 2. I doubt that would have had much impact on this weeks predictions.

:)

Good point, but I'm willing to bet as ballsy as Air Force was, they would have tried another onsides kick regardless. You know, to try and "trick" the Vols again.

I don't see UF putting up 41 on the Vols. I also don't see any superior coaching or talent for that matter. If you don't remember we did have the #1 class in 2004. And as far as coaching what has Urban Meyer ever won. Certainly not anything in this conference. Yea, he won in the WAC or whatever conference that Utah plays in. But that is a long way from winning in the SEC. So give me a freak'n break. UF has lost 5 games in three out of the last five years. Flumer has won a national championship. Cutcliffe has produced QB after QB. I think alot of you Gators are in for a suprise this year. This isn't the same old Tennessee offense you have seen under Randy Sanders and all I can say is you had better put up 41 but I don't know if that will be enough. But you and the rest of your Gator faithfull will learn that even though a guy can recruit, Which any decent coach in FL. should be able to do (for gods sakes he's in FL.). You don't win in this league with a finesse offense. You have to be physical and you will see that Saturday.

This sums up why the press is picking for florida. Here we have a guy that only saw the 2 pt conv on SportCenter, but actually didn't watch the game.

When this week started, I was nervous, so I watched the Cal game, which only shows how bad Cal played, but when i re-watched the AF game, I realized we weren't as bad as the final score, and it gave me confidence that Vols will win -- I think it will be close -- But Vols never trail.

If they made that conversion then got another onside kick, I think you just have to figure it was meant to be.
