Oh God. I really don't mean to offend anyone, but that's a place where I wouldn't recommend any players of color going.

Is Oak Ridge's gym bigger than the Buck Van Huss Dome in Dobyns-Bennett?

I know we couldn't have the RTL there just curious.

I think BVH holds 5K

I have played in both and the Buck Van Huss Dome is much bigger than Oak Ridge, unless they have upgraded in the last 5 years. The gyms I have played in around Knoxville don't even compare to the Buck Van Huss and Viking Hall around here.

can't be worse than an all white team going to play at AE. See UT @ LSU 2005 for examples. What a night

It was pretty bad up there in the late 90's when we used to go up there for basketball. Been up there several times in the last 6 years due to the football region and basketball realignment and haven't seen anything that I would consider bad

Like mentioned its nothing worse than whites going to Austin East. Ask anyone from Carter and they'll tell you its not bad... Anymore

Oak Ridge upgraded about 3 years ago and it doesnt even compare to its old gym but im not sure its bigger than DB's. It is nicer though and would have no problem with air conditioning.

Did they pick Bearden bc of the parking or what? I am guessing that all the HS gyms are pretty much the same so why Bearden over West or Fulton? Why not Farragut or Gibbs? Why not rotate it to a bunch of schools and then have the "playoffs" and the Civic Col? Just ideas, nothing more, nothing less.

makes sense. Show some Love to each part of part of knox county.

It's longer than that. I used to live right near Bearden high school and it was about 30 min or so, which makes it about a 40 minute drive for the players from Downtown.

You're crazy. I'm from Oak Ridge and it used to take me 30 mins to get from UT campus to my house which was all the way on the west end of OR. The new gym was built after I graduated so I've never seen it, just heard about how nice it is. It was a much needed improvement.

Do away with the Rocky Top League! It takes CBP all season long to coach away all the bad habits and big egos they aquire in it. The fans may like it, but it does absolutely nothing to help in the developement of the TEAM.

I went to Carter and completely agree with you. I've never felt uncomfortable anywhere in the knoxville area. If you mind your own business in the places where things might get bad, nobody will bother you. It's when people start running their mouths that the trouble happens.

No, its much bigger now, the renovated the school about 3 years ago and the built a completely new gym. Its really nice and has a lot of locker rooms

I grew up there. When I was a kid, I would agree with you. I think Union County has come a long way now, though.

Yea, I do like Bearden's gym. Good place. Just wish it wasn't so damned hot in there.

Oak Ridge has absolutely no problem with that. Im on the basketball team and sometimes it was so cold, that it hurt your chest wen we had to run in practice
