Pimpin' Ron Paul

I in no way said that was MY personal view. As I've said repeatedly he will be judged by not just a few Log Cabin Republicans who may or may not endorse Huckabee but THOUSANDS of people who believe in secession and the glory days of the Confederacy.

Keep in mind Huck eloquently spelled out this. To date, has Paul even stated anything about these people? David Duke? Brothel owners?

So before you go jumping on me about MY position, make sure you note I never said it was MY position but the image he will hold before the voters.

Huckabee was directly asked in a national debate specifically about the Log Cabin Pubs, so he has had a higher profile medium to spell out his position. Paul has not had that kind of forum to do that. That is why I wish the Confederate flag question that Mitt so clumsily dodged would have been directed at Ron Paul. That way, he would have been given the same forum to spell out his position. Instead, all he can do is talk about it on the campaign trail and condemn it in smaller media outlets.

Are you comparing Log Cabin Republicans to white supremacists and conspiracy nuts?

No, not comparing the two. :shakehead:

At the time we last talked about this, you were arguing that you hadn't heard Paul address the KKK/white separatist supporters he had. You then illustrated that Huckabee was asked a direct question about homosexuals and he gave a direct answer.

My argument was that the reason you may not have heard anything about Paul making any of those comments denouncing some of these guys is because he hasn't had the same forum to address them on a national stage. Huckabee was given a chance to do it during a nationally televised debate. Up until now, the only place Paul could get the same audience/attention about this issue was on the campaign trail. Glenn Beck's show still doesn't have the same audience that the debate had, but it offered Paul a chance to directly and openly discuss this on a much broader stage than he has been given before.

Touched on 9/11 conspiracy nuts...but nothing else we've brought up. Still nothing on accepting support and money from these groups - secessionists, League of the South, and numerous other white supremacist type groups as well.

The Swamp: Ron Paul's thought-provoking choice on racist's $$$

As Paul's campaign explained, it plans to keep the money because that will reduce the cash Black has to spend on spreading his controversial ideology by $500.

And, according to the campaign, another good will occur. Paul will have $500 more with which to spread his libertarian message of freedom from big government, including his opposition to the Iraq War.

And Hillary said she keeps the bundled money from these CHinese donors to keep the money out of the hands of Communist China and them spreading their ideology. Fill in the blank with Muslims as well.

Sorry but that logic is very flawed. Does Paul want to be known as the only candidate keeping tainted money? Keeping $500 from a guy like that won't stop his message. I can use that logic for anything else as well. I went around buying up kilos of coke just to keep the drugs off the street.

Yeah, because $500 from some nutcase is really going to influence the platform and actions of a guy that has raised close to $20 million in one quarter.

Also, seem to remember that there were some campaign laws that were broken when Clinton accepted the Chinese funny money. Show me the law that Paul has broken, and I may not dismiss the comparison between Paul and Clinton as just apples and oranges...

Considering it's not just $500 and it's more than one 9/11 nut and another single white supremacist.

As for the example of the Chinese guy, you clearly missed the point. At the end of the day, he can raise more money than anyone out there and what good has it gotten him? Dean was the online fundraising innovator. How far did he last?

Every candidate has tainted money. Every single last one of them.

Name me one candidate that doesn't get money from a white supremecist, and you can probably find money from the NOI, American Communist Party, CAIR, or some other radical group.

Paul didn't exactly win over the military vote with his "bring 'em all home, even the ones in Europe, Korea, Japan, etc." comment.

His 1930's era isolationism just isn't going to fly in the 21st century.

I had to post this... I saw Ron Paul last night on Leno and immediately decided he was unelectable. He reminds me of Herbert from Family Guy (the old pedophile). I just can't see this man as the face of the USA.
