I can't believe they bothered to make the first sequel.

I loved the first 3, but I don't think this one will be as good. I'll still go watch it though.

The first one was good. The next two were awful. This one actually looks like a return to goodness. They tried too hard to have an "epic" story with the second and third ones.

Last one wasn't all that good, but overall I've enjoyed them and will go see this one.

How do you mean?

in the last one the story was all over the place and there was too much of an effort to put a million things in the plot all the while making the movie way way too long. personally, i thought it was a disaster. i loved the first film and thought the second one was pretty good, but in the third one they were trying way too hard.

I really really liked the first two. The third one just seemed to go on and on. I'll probably see this one, I just wish they'd adopt that SNL skit with MIchael Bolton as it's true theme song.

I believe that the future Pirates movies will be individual stories that have no relation to each other.

Kind of an "Adventures of Jack Sparrow" franchise rather than sequels upon sequels.

If that is the case, then it will be a good turn of direction.

The first one ruined the franchise for me. It was good, but got so over-hyped and as a student I ended up watching it at girls' apartments like 15 times that first year it was on DVD. I got so sick of it. Haven't watched any sequels and I decided I don't like Depp.

I think the first one was outstanding. Too many great lines and scenes to name here IMO. I'll watch it any time it's on.

The second one I didn't like at all, and the third was better than the second, but the first is still my favorite. I have only watched 2 & 3 once in the theatre.

IMHO one of the problems with the second one was that they didn't have Geoffrey Rush (Barbosa) in it. He is an outstanding actor (See Kings Speech) and was the perfect villan to play against Sparrow. i.e. "We named the Monkey Jack." The other problem with 2 & 3 was that the villian was totally unbelievable for me - a little guy with a powdered wig? Get real.

I'll watch this one, and hope it is worth seeing again.

weren't the wigs traditions back then?
