It sucks, but scheme change can send even the best coaches packing unfortunatly. It's just part of the business.

Everyone has their opinions about what can't change, and what it takes. Texas A&M is a "finesse" team and they won against the team we all hate.

Remember Cincy averaged 200 yards last year.

Why is everyone using the term of what we are going to run as a "finesse" offense all of a sudden?

Yeah, they beat the breaks off of aTm.

I would be on board with an offensive style like Sumlin's, wouldn't you?

The guys on WMNL this morning said there is really no comparison between Sumlin's offense and Jones' offense.

I posted the exact same thing, before I saw your reply. Great point!

That's what we had a few years ago after kiffin recruited for zone blocking schemes he liked. We saw where that got us

pretty well under Kiffin and his staff--not great, to be sure, but better than we had the past several years before their arrival. The big reason we fell on hard times in the last six years of Fulmer regime was poor offensive recruiting and poor offensive production--Sanders was a terrible coach, we stopped getting really good skill talent, and our OL blocking and run game really fell off. We had a bunch of really mediocre offensive lines, couldn't block--and we had no real good receivers. Had two real strong defenses in 2005 and 2007 and were totally inept on offense--reverse of this year.

Gary Danielson's comments about the Jones hire were primarily how surprised he is that Tennessee went to a finesse offense. You may disagree or think Danielson is an idiot. But no one is making this up.
