Players you are excited to see play

Those are great...I'll add Jermod McCoy and Rickey Gibson at CB. I think they are the athletic, talented CB pair we've been missing for a long time.
Really looking forward to the logic used by CWM haters to explain away any success by a bad coach’s unit. Many are really locked in and cred invested. If we fill the Star hole the whole back end should PERFORM much better.

Seriously hoping CJH’s faith in him is rewarded, and it has been primarily a Jimmy’s and Joe’s issue addressed by the purge last year.

I really hate to admit this, but if I were a Vols fan, I would be extremely excited about this season! The sky is the limit for y’all’s offense and despite all the new faces in the defensive backfield, I think the defense will be much improved.

I would be most excited about Nico and the potential of this offense. I honestly don’t see any weaknesses at all on offense, only talented players with tons of potential. So long as injuries don’t become a huge issue, I think every position group on this side of the ball could be a strength for this team. Strong O-line✔️, very talented receivers✔️, strong and speedy RBs✔️, and even added a solid TE to the mix.

This leaves Nico, and I believe that your Vols will live or die on the play of this young man. If he plays to or near his expected potential he will be just the leader and catalyst that the offense needs. If so, I believe this offense will be capable of putting up big numbers on anyone. So I’d be most excited to see how well Nico plays.

Picking Nico is a bit of a cop out though, everyone is excited to see how he plays. So I’d also be very excited about the potential of y’all’s wideouts. Hard to pick just one, but I’d be excited particularly for McCoys return and the speedy White. Sampson and Seldon at RB will be a heck of a duo as well. Like I said above, I don’t see any weaknesses on this offense so long as Nico gets it done.

I did notice that in the 22 season, when the O was so good, the success of the offense did make it tough on the defense, at least statistically and by putting them on the field very quickly between possessions. It can wear on a defense. As stated above, I’m not sure about the DBs, but I do think that between the talented D-line and LBs, the pass rush will be a major strength that will help the defense on the backend.

I hate to say all this, but it is what I honestly think. The SEC will be extremely tough this season, if things come together for you guys you might find your team being able to play with anyone. There will be many questions answered by the end of the day on Sept. 21 in Norman, Oklahoma. If by this point you guys have gotten by the Wolfpack and the Sooners in convincing fashion, it might send a bit of a message to the rest of the conference. Who knows for sure what to expect though. Only thing I’m sure of is that I’m so ready for this season to kickoff. It’s going to be an interesting season!!!

Long list here! It’s mostly newer guys, not yet established, but hopefully will have significant impacts this year to winning a bunch of games. With 31 players gone from last year, the Vols need a LOT of new impact guys.

Some I’ll list that may be a year away- Weathersby, Ross, Spillman, Leacock, Umarov. But, these guys have serious potential, and we should at least see them against UTC and hopefully other blowouts.

Special shoutout to Mike Matthews. He’s fierce. Hope he can get & stay fully healthy.

Nico
Peyton Lewis
DeSean Bishop
Cameron Seldon
Chris Brazzell

I’m more concerned about the safety opposite Turrentine than I am Star. But it sounds like Brooks is actually playing well.

On the D-line, I'm eager to see what kind of push our D tackles can bring up the middle to disrupt timing patterns and force QBs out of the pocket to where they're more vulnerable to our edge rushers.
I'm excited to see if Elijah Simmons can take the next step. On a crowded DL with a few more heralded stars (Lott, Omari, Eason...) it might be a little tough for him to stick out, but I'd love to see him emerge from fall camp in the 2-deep. Nonetheless, from a diamond in the rough project to significant playing time last season, he's had a fine progression and gets to enjoy a 6th year(covid). Would love to see him play his way into a late round or UDFA

Boo & Seldon. I just finished playing the first season of my Dynasty in CFB25. I put in Seldon as the HB for all my heavy formations & he absolutely crushed it.

Boo did great as well, won SEC &/or National Defensive Player of the Week at least 3 times. That game has me pumped up a bit more than usual for this season!

I love all of our players and really believe this is the most talented team we have seen in the last 20 years.

I don't know man. I want so badly to agree with this, but that 2016 team, it feels like that whole starting roster got, at the very least, meaningful playing time in the NFL.
