Playoff Push....

The Colts will make it to the playoffs. They'll probably not win a game beyond that, though.

Which is what I was trying to say.

The Titans will win the division. They essentially have a four game lead holding the tiebreaker over the Colts as they already beat them. Just can't see the Titans losing four of their final six with the Colts winning out.

if the colts beat the titans at the end of the season, that will be the end of the tiebreaker and both would have the same divisional record. If the Steelers beat the Titans, I'm not sure how the % would break down against common opponents, but I know the colts beat the steelers.

As a Phins fan this kills me to say it but the Jets are about 85-90% solid. They are puttin up a rally for their old man QB at almost every position, and are playing some pretty solid football. Favre gets in the ''zone''.... like what Woody Harrelson refers to in White men can't jump. It's a silent box players get in and you could almost say it's like the force in Star Wars...partly controls your actions and obeys your commands. Instinct. He's a gunslinger on the verge of out-of-control, and at times he is INT prone. But up to without crossing that line he's in the zone and it's a performance to watch, it's why he couldn't just walk away.

The titans will win the division if they can win the next 3 games. Detroit is probably the scariest of all the games. The titans are still banged up and they have a very short week. Also no team has ever gone 0-16. Obviously this could be the first time but its likely Detroit will win one somewhere. I just hope its not against the titans. Cleveland and Houston dont worry me very much.
The Titans can secure home field advantage with 4 wins or less if the jets and steelers lose 1.
Pittsburgh and New England are both looking good right now but they both also lost to the colts. Indy has been improving but I think they will lose one somewhere down the line.

with the titans, i worry more about cleveland or even houston turning on for a game than i do the lions this week

I'm all for the "every team wins one, every team loses one" mentality with the nfl - i say it every year. That being said, this years lions seem to have even less cohesion/organization than last year's dolphins: at least the dolphins were playing better near the end of the season. They have a tough ending schedule left, and before tonight MNF game I saw the saints as their one winnable game...so i guess i'm still going to go with that one

if you lose to Detroit............you don't deserve anything.

as for the rest, you get the Steelers at home and as a Steeler fan, i can tell you the match up of your D line vs. our O line is awful for us. if Parker isn't healthy and you're getting doses of Mewelde Moore and Kerry Davis, i woudlnt' worry too much. if you get less than 5 sacks in that game, you should be worried.

Defensively howeve,r we match up with the Titans as well as you do defensivel with us.

that game will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes and turnovers. should be a great defensive game, with the Titans winning a pretty close game.

the Colts game though........i can see you guys losing that one......last game.......at Indy.....and Indy has found itself the last 4 weeks. Indy, NE and NYJ are the most dangerous teams in the AFC right now.

but bottom line, the titans are at worst 13-3, and still probalby going to get the 1 seed and home field through out, even if they lose to Pittsburgh and Indy.

as far as parker...i'm not sure his health is the main answer to the steelers success/struggles.

Something struck me that one of the commentators said on the Thurs. night game - the steelers looked like they were struggling to find their identity on offense. I think that maybe they're still not sure what they're best strengths or attack methods are at this point in the season. Evem with parker healthy, they weren't dominating on offense. They were still winning and winning often, but not dominating.

They're struggling to figure out what they are and they need to figure it out in the next few weeks if they want a deep run. Whether it's strong passing, power running, running to set up the pass or vice versa or whatever, they haven't quite solved it yet and they need to soon.

ugh, espn is already giddy that they can talk about a big market team as best in the league again; don't encourage them any further :ermm:

ok, two weeks to go and it's about as close as it can be for several divisions and wc races......

so many scenarios........the panthers right now have a game sunday night that could help seal up home field. of course of they lose the last two and wind up 11-5, they won't even make the playoffs. how's that for drama the last two weeks?

the AFC East is a mess..........3 way tie at the top. NYJ, NE and Miami........Dan...hope the phins get in.

AFC West.......and NFC West.....two weakest divisions ever.

this is gonna be awesome.......

so many big games.........but the two to watch this week.......Pittsburgh @ Tennessee and CArolina @ NYG........

can't wait.

Pitt could pull off a run to the Super Bowl. Best Defense in the steel town in a long time.

Thats quite possible. I think much of it depends on how things shake out in the final 2 weeks.

In the AFC
I do think Colts make it in at #5. The ravens probably #6. #4 I think will be Denver #3 IMO will be the winner of the Jets/Dolphins game.
#1 and #2 are of course steelers and titans with #1 going to the winner of their game.

If this happens Denver and the colts with play in Denver. Sorry but I think Denver wins at home. I know Denver is not very good but its not real easy to play in Denver in January.

The Jets or Dolphins vs Ravens.. I dont know how that one would turn out. Ravens have a great D but offense is just so so.

i love the Steelers and from living in Charlotte i've become a pretty good panther fan.

and i can say with 100% certainty i do not want both teams in the Super bowl.

it sounds good. but it sucks. last year wwhen the steelers played the panthers in Charlotte i went to the game thinking "i can't lose".

it was misery. every time one team did well, i was pissed off at the other. it sucked.

I felt like that kid in the E trade commercial where he underestimated the creepiness of the clowns........i definitely underestimated the "I can't lose" factor".

having them both in a super bowl would be torture.

stock up: Giants, Titans, Falcons, Baltimore, Indy
Stock down: Panthers, Steelers, Arizona (rock bottom btw), Cowboys, Eagles, Denver
Even: Chargers

the panthers/giants game was as competitive as you'd hope it to be for the top two teams. the panthers missed a g/w field goal and the giants capaitalized. road to Tampa goes thru the Meadowlands, and if the panthers want a home game they now MUST win at New Orleans this Sunday.

Airzona apparently thought the season ended when they won the division. what a pathetic display yesterday at New England.

the Eagles are an enigma. and they have taken onthe personality of their quarterback, not their head coach.

the Cowboys are the funniest thing going in the NFL. i love it. Watch the Eagles blow out the 'boys next week, confirming, again, the enigma theory. you just never know what you're going to get.

the poor, poor Lions. i mean seriously.........0-15? fire everybody.

the NFL ticket rules. specifically the HD Game MIx on 702-1. i'm watching 3 games at one time all with a bout 1 minute to go, all w/in a touch down, and all three the losing team with the ball with a chance to tie. didn't miss any of it. that was the hightlight of my day unfortunately.

The Steelers still have a defense, but the offense can't get out of it's own way.

Indy and Atlanta are the two teams no one wants to play right now. Baltimore is a close, very close, 3rd team in that category right now as well.

Phillip Rivers a moder day Joe Namath? i don't know, but the comment he made way back when about "don't let that last game mean anything" is now looming large as the Broncos failed miserably to take care of business at home yesterday. Sunday night now has a game that has a division title and playoff berth on the line. look out Denver, you've stepped in it now.

i don't have any faith in the Steelers' offense or the Panthers' defense. the Broncos and Cardinals are pretenders. the winner of the AFC East and NFC north will just be glad to get in the playoffs after winning either of those divisions that will go down to the last weekend.... that leaves INdy, TN, Balt on the AFC and NYG and ATL in the NFC as the real contenders right now.

i'm goig with the Giants vs. Colts in Tampa. for now.

TV would love a manning vs manning match up.

if you don't hate those two now, wait if that happens........you'll be up to your eyes in eli, peyton, cooper, archie and olivia manning. you haven't see over exposure like that would generate.

didn't think about that, they already get commercials together, but you're right, it will all be about the two before, during, and the year after. Joy.
