"playoff"

In my version, arkansas was included as an at large bid, so I wrongly assumed you thought it should include another SEC school INSTEAD of the conference champion from the Sun Belt. I see your point, I simply disagree. I think Oregon vs. FIU, or Ohio, or UConn is lovely actually. But then again, I like the first round of the Basketball Tourney too.

There just doesn't need to be 16 teams. If one of these non-BCS schools pulls a TCU, then they can get into a smaller pool with an at large bid.

last year UF and bama played for the SECC and basically for a spot in the NC. Are you saying that Central Mich, Troy or E Carolina would have been more deserving than UF?

If a team wins their conference, then yes they should get in the play-off over a runner-up from another conf. By your proposition, why not put UF in over the Big East Champ? Or the PAC?

you must like to watch crappy football. If it's done it will be because the money is there but a UO v CMU game won't get us there. It's ridiculous to think winning a minor conf should get you anything besides a trophy and the Carquest bowl

In all seriousness, folks get caught up in the #1 vs #16 and the #2 vs #15. I contend that teams 1-4 have done enough to warrant an easy 1st round game. Even so, #5 Stanford vs. #12 Arkansas, #6 Boise St. vs #11 Mich. St...#8 Oklahoma vs. #9 Va. Tech etc...Would be GREAT 1st round games. The second and third rounds would be spectacular, better matchups than the bowls provide because there are no tie ins. Auburn vs. Oklahoma, Stanford vs. Ohio St., TCU vs. Michigan St., Oregon vs. Wisconsin might be the second round, nothing crappy about that IMO. Oregon vs. TCU, Auburn vs. Stanford in the third round, also not crappy. Of course, that's assuming no David slaying Goliath scenarios which could make it even more compelling.
