You guys make him out to be a legend... he hasn't won a championship and arguably never will... facts are facts. The amount of races he has one in a 2 year period pales in comparison to most of the elite drivers. He did have a great start to his career but has slipped up some what recently. Facts are facts but there's no point in arguing with extreme Junior homers.. it's like trying to tell me Tennessee is a pathetic football program.. it won't register - but seriously whatever makes you happy keep living in the fantasy world where Junior rules all.

Yeah, two people disagreeing with you is teaming up on you. Poor Bassmanbruno, how do you cope with the black helicopters circling your home?

The only person to mention Jr. and legend in the same sentence in this thread was YOU, but continue putting words into others mouths. No one even called Jr. a great or elite driver in this thread, infact it was you that got the ball rolling about Jr. lucking into the the pole at Pocono as well as calling him out for daring to not run a good lap in the rain on tread-less race tires. I see you couldn't refute the fact that Jr. ranks in the top 5 in several categories in his time in the Cup Series, so you must rely on the old faithful remarks: Jr. sucks and so do his fans. Good job.

Please - tell me where he ranks in the past 2 years in most of those categories? That was his first pole since 2002 - when was his last win? He had a great start to his career but has been near where his fans have wanted him to be over his recent stint.

I never ever said you specifically called him a legend or an elite driver but was obviously talked about his fanbase in general.

And I never said he suck - refer to my previous post which you didn't read I guess.. and I said his bandwagon fans suck which was also in my previous post.

Well, let's take every driver's worst two year period and see how they stack up. Do you know why Jr. decided to leave TEI? The team hasn't been where they need to be since 2005. Do you think Jr. became a worse driver from 2004 when he won 6 races to 2005 when he barely finished in the top in the points? I realize it's much easier to just look at it from the outside and say he sucks, but if you don't have the car to get the job done, you're not going to get the job done.

So maybe he just had some of the best cars out there his first few years and it made him seem like a better driver than he really was?

But we won't know for sure if these were just his worst 2 years of his career... we just have to wait I could be right or completely wrong...but I see where you're coming from after watching Jarrett and Sadler decline after racing for Robert Yates... their pit crews were pathetic as well as their cars..

Ricky Rudd was stupid to join the 88 team after racing for Robert Yates a few years earlier only to fail.. Would have thought he learned his lesson.. just doesn't have the resources - but that's way off-topic anyway.

TEI was certaily a better team pre-2005. Again, a driver isn't going to do anything if the cars aren't there. Even in 2004, Jr. ran so well, and the rest of the team was terrible. Usually if a team is doing really well, all or at least 2 of the cars run very well. Hendrick has 4 competitive cars, Roush had 5 cars in the Chase in 2005, Gibbs has 2 (soon to be 3) competitive cars. Before the 1 team got their act together a couple months ago, the 8 was the only car at TEI that ran well week in and week out since 2001.

They seemed to have lagged off the last few races, but there for about a month they were in the top two or three every race. Guess it just goes in cycles... the 24 and 48 couldn't do anything wrong at the beginning of the season, the 1 had a spurt of success, the 20 has turned it on lately, and so on.

Stewart always turns it on this time of year....As far as Jr. goes......No he's not legend, he's not won a Championship, yet, and he may not but if he goes over to Hendrick and doesn't win races there and at least 1-2 championships in his 5 year stay over there, he's not the driver everyone thought he was.....Obviously.....We'll just have to wait and see when next year rolls around..But for now, they Battle of the Beverages is REALLY heating up...should make it interesting these next few races

I think Jr will replace Truex in the Chase..... also not convince Bowyer will stay in the Chase; I like him but if someone like Newman gets hot, you never know
