It’s my first time traveling to see the Vols play ever. My last bama game was 1996 at home when Peyton lead us to victory in a fourth quarter rally.
What should I expect?
How is parking down there?
Things to do before the game? (We are going to try and be there early for SEC Nation)
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks and GBO! 🍊

I have only attended one game there - I will be attending my second this Saturday. I secured parking via Seat Geek in Lot A. That is where we parked last time. Getting to the lot was not that bad. There is a shuttle you can catch.

We did arrive early as I had purchased tickets that I had to go pick up - that was before digital ticketing. We watched the Tide arrive by bus - not because we planned to, but we happened to be at the gate where they were entering at the time. We had no clue where to see the Vols enter.

Too much RED on campus! LOL :)

I've been one time, and unlike Neyland you can walk all the way around the stadium. Well when we started looking for our gate, I went left when I should gave gone right.......walked all the way around the stadium, and almost missed the kickoff. lol

I haven't been since the Kiffin year. From what I hear from my coworkers ( big bammers) a lot has changed the last couple years ( covid and tail gating areas) and parking isn't as simple as it was a few years ago. They still have shuttles for the larger parking areas, so that's a good thing. Like some one said previously, you can walk around this stadium, make sure you keep your bearings on where you park, and which way to go to get back to your car. Other wise you can do a lot of unnecessary walking. Enjoy yourself, stay safe. I'll be looking for my fellow Vols to say hello and a big ole GO VOLS !!!!. I'm actually sitting in a Bammers season ticket seat, so I'll be surrounded by Bammers. I hope I can make them very uncomfortable for the whole game. Lets GO BIG ORANGE !!!!

I go to Tuscaloosa every time we play there. The Bryant Museum is worth the time to visit.

Don’t take first parking you find, work your way in. Plan on a long, long wait to get back to the interstate. That place gets locked down. Too many people for that small city. Hang out a couple hours after the game.

There are a couple cool bars on the strip. Lots of students and dumbass kids like any campus.

I went to one in Birmingham, 1st one in Tiscaloosa. I am hoping for a great day from the guys! I am hanging with my buddy who has a box in the end zone deck section. We will meet at his buddies bar and take a cart to the stadium. It will be a good day, great if we can put it all together finally offense and defense !

I was there in 2019 and 2021. I found almost all of the fans to be very friendly and nice. However, I wouldn’t expect as warm of a welcome this time around.

Go to the Bryant Museum and then Go to the Quad and see the Denny Chimes. Both fairly close to the stadium.

Eat ribs at the OG Dreamland on 15th Ave. Go Friday night if possible. The other location under the bridge to Northport is pretty good too.

Parking is a lost cause, but if you dont mind walking in and out, its easier to get out if you park on University on the East side of campus and go back east on University through Cottondale to get back on i20 after the game.

Also Im 3-0 in Tuscaloosa so if you have an extra i can bring a lot of good juju. My son has never been to a game there either.

This, last time we made the mistake of thinking we could just walk back because the bus line was so long. We got lost, realized we had no clue where we were - saw a bus coming - ran to what we thought was a bus stop praying it stopped and let us on - when the door opened, we asked - are you going to lot A? Realized as we sat on the bus, we were nowhere close to Lot A.

In looking at the parking map I got when I bought the parking space this time. I realized we were basically walking around in a big circle that night - had we turned right as we come out of the stadium rather than crossing the street, it wasn't that far. Lessons learned.

Google maps and drop pins will save you a headache or two in unfamiliar territory. Especially if alcohol is involved.

For better or worse (and thanks to a cheap UT scholarship office, my progeny is on a full ride at that darned Red Hell and plays in the band).

I echo all the above. Escape after the game is a loooong burn. There are few routes. Use the Clutch! app to find parking. We usually park in the Capstone Deck. That place rolls in football money so enjoy the pretty campus—that is the only thing pretty there hahahaha.

We have been to a few dozen games at the BDS dump. Not a lot of food options and beer is new this year (or maybe last). Stadium is a dump.

With few exceptions, the Bammers are decent humans (sadly so) and never harass my teen who is always decked out in Big Orange. I wear half Orange and Half Band support.

Never utter those RTR words. Ever.

The fans there are spoiled so not nearly as loud as Neyland. Ever. And expect them to abandon the stadium in the third. The students are actually tracked and punished for leaving early (with lower ticket priorities) because Satan gets pissed.

GBO.

I hope you got tickets to where the crowd of orange sits at the top, or in the usual area. I have been there three times, and I can tell you that it’s better to sit with the orange. After the game is over, follow the orange crowd out of the stadium and stay with them if you’re catching a bus, or going to your car, or whatever you do. If we win, don’t stay to celebrate. Move quickly to get out, but I do recommend staying the vol fans all the way out. I’ve had ice and everything else thrown at me, and I got the heck out of there as quickly as possible. If you’re parking your vehicle in the parking lot, make sure it is in a more secure spot. I left my car back at the hotel where there were security all three times, and took a bus back to the hotel. I’m just saying be safe, and plan ahead down there as much as possible.

We attend several games each year (wife is a bammer). I second the Bryant Museum, it is very interesting. Should we win, the strip will shut down. I was there for the Texas lost. Tried to find a bar open after the game to celebrate. Strip was closed.

Under no circumstances say you're cousins with anyone. Even if you see a long lost relative, do not say it out loud.

We are sitting in a bammer section as well.

If we lose you’ll probably be fine, if we win, watch your six. I heard they tortured Texas fans this year. They were screaming racial and homophobic slurs at the Texas players on sidelines. I’ve got a video of it to prove it.

The best thing about Tuscaloosa is the Waffle House right on the strip.

There’s a place around the corner from the Waffle House called the Red Shed. It’s a bar with a decent outdoor area. They usually have some local guy who cooks BBQ for game day and sells on the patio. It’s good stuff.

Generally speaking, Alabama fans are great as long as they are winning. They turn mean in a hurry when things aren’t going their way.
