Police shooting black man in the back ... again (Kenosha, WI)

The cops were called on him, he wasn’t breaking up anything. He had a active felony arrest warrant. He fought with Law Enforcement, shrug off a taser that was deployed. Was told to drop the knife that was in his hand and to top it off he reached into his vehicle. Pretty cut and dry, this shooting was justified.
Perhaps, but the optics were bad.... 7 shots in the back at point blank is going to freak a lot of people out

Do you guys receive tips from agents about the actions of other agents or do the auditors typically report to the company? In TN the state has investigators that focus on worker’s compensation premium manipulation and etc.
NCCI, agents, insureds competitors, auditors and we have checks and balances to cross reference. Sometimes even blind luck or bad luck if you're the insured that got caught. TN and GA have their own investigators but carriers do too. Most don't see us until it's too late.

Maybe so. Not defending his actions.

He absolutely could have depending on circumstances, sounds like he pulled him over for no seat belt which is a minor traffic charge

Yeah according to EL, that’s the same as a guy who has a record of assaulting police officer and the LEOS responding to a domestic abuse call. And some people really believe that guy is a lawyer. Lol.

Yeah my dad and I were having a disagreement over whether 7 shots was normal and I found a question and answer with an FBI investigator that did cop shooting investigations in Florida...... he said cops were trained to shoot multiple times like the guy in Wisconsin did.... he said one shot wasn’t enough to stop the threat.... they are taught to shoot multiple times bc the goal is to cause 40-50% blood loss bc that is the only time the threat is neutralized....

Its kinda dammed if you do dammed if you don't. The cops dont shoot Blake gets in the car and grabs a weapon or takes the kids hostage then it would be they should've done more. If they do shoot you see what we have. With whats going on it was a pretty no win situation for these officers.

More details ...

quote:
According to Matthews, the officers were dispatched there because of a complaint that Blake was attempting to steal the caller’s keys and vehicle. Matthews said officers were aware that Blake had an open warrant for felony sexual assault before they arrived.

quote:
Blake was armed with a knife, but officers did not initially see it, Matthews said.

“The officers first saw him holding the knife while they were on the passenger side of the vehicle,” he said.

quote:
The bystander who recorded the shooting, 22-year-old Raysean White, said he saw Blake scuffling with three officers and heard them yell, “Drop the knife! Drop the knife!” before gunfire erupted. He said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands. State investigators have said only that officers saw a knife on the floor of the car. They have not said whether Blake threatened anyone with it.

Matthews said officers made multiple requests to Blake to drop the knife, but he was uncooperative. He said officers used a Taser on Blake, but it did not incapacitate him.

“Blake forcefully fought with the officers, including putting one of the officers in a headlock,” Matthews said. A second stun from a Taser also did not stop him, he said.

quote:
“Based on the inability to gain compliance and control after using verbal, physical and less-lethal means, the officers drew their firearms,” Matthews said. “Mr. Blake continued to ignore the officers’ commands, even with the threat of lethal force now present.”
