Yeah, since gays and abortion are the only things that would matter to him, he would most likely be a Republican.

He would be neither..............western civilaztion has bastardized the christian faith...........

I believe Jesus would be a democrat or a republican like I believe he was white and had flowing brown or blonde hair.

Jesus was mostly about peace, love and understanding...wait, that was Elvis Costello.

Doesn't sound like he would be much of a republican either.

Oh, and FYI, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah was told in Genesis. That was a couple of thousand of years before Jesus.

OK OK, I was a "little" off the mark on that one. But, I have a feeling that Jesus and God are pretty much one in the same and If God did that then Jesus would have followed suit.

Library of Congress.

There is a sub-culture that have made a mini-business of taking his quotes either out of context or used them in pretext.

Jefferson, as many of the founders, was conflicted in regard to religion because of the horrors they were well educated on from their European parents and grandparents.

Most of their atypical comments were in regard to the wrongs conveyed to them regarding organized religion. They were weary with heretics being burned at the stake because they did not toe the line of many conventional churches. It's why they wove the freedom of religion into the very fabric of American society.

I have much of Jefferson's works in my personal library and would consider it a waste of time to attempt to argue against ruses.

Always remember; a text without a context is pretext.

Jefferson's letter to Massachusetts Baptists and the comments I posted were squarely within the context of the text quoted.

As I said; Jefferson and Adams were both opposed to organized religion ruling government. They were clearly opposed to government interposing its view in any area of religious life. It's why they were perfectly fine with prayer and bible study in the schools of their day. They were reared on it and spoke often of its benefits in their own lives.

Read a little more then the snippets provided by leftist Internet sites.

to methose three sentances contradict themselves. Dumb it down for me.:)

Government in no way interfered in local schools. It
was and still should be a matter decided by each individual community. Government in D. C. should not dictate what is taught in local schools. It should be the dictates of the local school systems. If locals are offended there are always other places they can go to educate their children the way they prefer or they can educate them in the home.

The founders sought no involvement in dictating individual liberties.

Contrary to todayÂ’s trend of government meddling in all areas of our lives, the founders were opposed to such meddling.

ItÂ’s why they were fine with the bible in the schools, or if a community chose not to, they were fine with that too. Adams and Jefferson were educated with the bible and were beholden to its influence.

Well if you have a pastor endorsing candidates behind the pulpit you can thank them for the visit from the IRS revoking their tax-free status.

On a side note, none of the scheduled democratic or libertarian candidates cared to show up.

Would they have been dragged down to the altar and had a laying on of hands to convert them?

I would only vote for Brown and Strickland if it meant saving my wife or my baby boy's life.

I am going Libertarian for governor........

I know Mike DeWine........he is not that bad of a person as a democrat would have you believe.

Though he may be a little to far right for the common good, but he is no where near Brown.

Brown is about as low as you can go on the scum level.......

Well then the polls show the people of your state like scum over those associated with scum. The GOP grassroots up there needs to clean house. That whole party organization is mucked up.

The democrats missed a clean sweep by not getting the state auditor.

The Ohio GOP is worthless......they tried the same crap they did in 04.....

They sent us cards that said Liberals...oh scary......

The GOP as a whole needs to look at themselves.
