Thought the thread was about us improving. Isnt that the goal? Losing talent at skill postitions(QB) like we have, would a 6-6 season be an improvement? Yes, it would. ANY COACH WORTH HIS SALT IS GOING TO MAKE HIS TEAM BETTER??????. Did Dooley make his team better? What did Dooley build? Tell me.

To answer in order.

1. Yes, your better coachs will improve their teams at a more rapid pace than those that suck or are substandard.

2. Very little if any. He has a big hand in why we are where we currently are. He fits in the sucks category mentioned above.

3. Dooley built a situation where the next guy in line had plenty of room to improve the program. As mentioned above, he sucked.

What does Dooley have to do with Jones?

Just guessing , but I think the poster most likely thinks Dooley isn't worth his salt

The defense is already better. Of course setting last year as a bar , they didn't have much they had to do. Offensively is where we need to see vast improvement.. Trigger man has a lot to do with that. We have problems there. I think they will get better, it maybe limited though.

I think we will get better each week & if we don't beat either GA SC or AL, we'll win either 3 or 4 of the games vs MO KY AU & Vandy.

The QB situation is part and parcel to the development of the WR's/TE's, conversion of the OL, and performance of the RB's. Improvement in any of those areas will have a corresponding effect in other areas. ALMOST every case of improvement in any human activity goes that way. It is an exponential curve that's steep early and flattens out as you approach the true potential of the talent you have.

The angle of the curve relates more to coaching and player motivation than talent. The potential is what it is.... how quickly underperformance approaches potential is a big variable.

it is all about change management and if our coaches have a high enough EQ (emotional intelligence)to engage the fledgling State run business unit clad in orange

dooley left little talent but ut should be able to get 1 signature win---hopefully with an upset of uga---their fans at my office are beyond obnoxious---already talking about playing oregon for the national title

why would the team not improve?

Injuries. We can not afford ANY more at all, as in absolutely zero....And boys, in the meatgrinder SEC, that ain't happening. After our ones, you see what we got with guys like Swafford (bless his slow as molasses little heart). BUT if we can somehow avoid them, I think we can show good improvement.

As if Oregon wasn't bad enough, the Florida game showed us just how dire the QB situation is. It's probably pretty evident to everyone that if we perform like this all season, we may not win an SEC game aside from (likely) Kentucky.

That being said, do you expect to see the offense and this team as a whole improve and still make it to a bowl game?

**EDIT** 4th option I meant to say the team will improve, make it to a bowl game, AND get a signature win (be it against UGA, SC, or a bowl win, etc)

I believe we will see this group continue to improve as the season moves along. Likely this ill not be reflected in wins as I see them winning 5 games.

Improvement over the last few seasons was shown Saturday IMO. this team fought until the end of the game and did not quit. A huge difference from past years. So I expect that t continue right through November.
