Just got back from a golf trip in the Calabash/N Myrtle area. In some convenience stores you had to wear one. When in the pro shops we had to wear one but as soon as you sit at a table you can take it off. Same thing when we went out to eat. What’s the point?

Thankfully we live in a free country where it’s allowed. Since you want to kneel at the alter of government authority you’re allowed to do that also.

I don't recall saying where I thought a government mandate should be a thing.

You're slipping in your age, old man.

Yes, the entire world is trying get Trump out of office. That is not a great conspiracy theory even by this board's standards.
EU recovery plan: Leaders strike 'historic' deal to rebuild economy after coronavirus - CNN

Do you know how many politicians and their families are about to make bank on this manufactured crisis? This doesn't even factor in the number of businesses throwing out lobbying money to be included in phasee 1. As always, follow the money.

I have no problem with the government asking people to wear masks or business owners requiring them. My problem is government mandating their use.

Most people who say they don't believe the government should have the authority to mandate masks or vaccines don't really mean that.

A man walks up to a woman he doesn't know in a mall and asks "Will you have sex with me for 10 million dollars?" The woman is quite surprised but after a moment she replies "For 10 million? Yes I'll have sex with you for 10 million". The man then says "Will you have sex with me for 10 dollars?" The woman is offended and snaps back at the man "10 dollars! What do you think I am?" The man replies "I think we've already established that, now we're trying to agree on a price."

Same thing with government mandates for masks or vaccines. If 10 million people were dying each month from Covid most people would agree with the authority to mandate. If only 10 people were dying each month most people would be offended to have masks or vaccines mandated. It's not the authority to mandate that most people have a problem with - it's that everybody has a different price.

He can wear a mask, he is free to do so just as I am free to not wear one. What bothers me are the unconstitutional mandates. The fact is no one knows the answer so they just keep "try this" ok that's not working how we wanted so "we must try something different"

The government telling you to wear a mask is too much and a violation but them kidnapping citizens and violating their rights is cool.

Right wing "logic." 😂🤣🙃

Because your compliance significantly reduces my odds of catching it.
But you are wearing a mask so you should be good right? How about this, since you libs are "pro choice" and lib women always say "my body, my choice" you all let me make my choice and let me decide how I want to live? Good?

Your numbers depend solely on the customers willing to spend money there like any business, it wasn’t a dig on your ability to run a business just the statement you made about grateful for people like me not being able to grace your threshold . You know if I want to do business with someone requiring a mask I’ll put one on right ? I’ve always said that . I don’t mind being in a minority when every report I read is contradicted by another one , every expert is guessing just like every non expert and other countries are being held up as beacons for us to follow except for when they produce data we don’t like , such as school openings . Lastly I’m use to being stubborn and in a minority, I pretty much have been all my life , hence my name .. one lil rebel . 😊

It appears you and others are always engaging in your own form of performative identity politics. This form of "individualism"/"rebellion is just another expression of groupthink--ironically-- that the woke left is now absorbed in. Many on VN are unwittingly participating in the "society of spectacle" in a never ending virtual dance where the actors never change ("woke left"/lilreb) all to keep fabricated culture wars alive that distract from pressing issues.
Whenever something becomes government mandated, the brainworms are activated and many become default contrarians. Something to their own "brand" of political identity being so immersed in believing the government is out to get them that it’s twisted itself into self-delusion They’re so invested in the guvmint being their enemy that they can be sold all kinds of b******* under the guise of liberty. This is not about frredum in any way -- It's almost as if the idea that your fellow citizens matter is antithetical to modern conservatism.
FFS, I wonder how many on hear initially supported the Patriot Act?

I said let those people burn those cities down, I don't GAF what happens to the cities or the people in Portland or any other liberal city. They voted for communists so they need to feel the consequences of their voted. Are you libs no longer pro choice and no longer "my body, my choice'?

Let me know when 10 million a month are dying and I might reconsider my stance. Then again, I may not.

I think it's laughable to compare the spread of a vaccinated, seasonal illness to a currently unvaccinated global pandemic.
What connotations are you trying to make with the bolded. Are these scare words or do they denote some sort of severity? Is the flu not considered a global pandemic? Is the common cold not a global pandemic?
