It's this sort of 'logic' that leaves me grateful for businesses normalizing mandates so people like you don't have a choice when crossing the threshold in businesses like mine.

I always have a choice bud . Living in America gives me that choice . We all do , I don’t have to exchange my money for your goods if I choose not to do business with you . There’s that double edged blade again . I can choose to go to your competition. That’s kind of a dumb statement coming from someone who relies on other people’s money to stay in business. 🤷‍♂️

It would be a dumb statement if we weren't putting up great numbers the past month. Hate to tell you but 100% of my competition here is mandating the same thing.

Most people aren't so needlessly stubborn over something that takes such little effort. You're in the minority there.

away from the facemask topic for a second -- is your restaurants allowed 100 % capacity ? - In Illinois its 50 people only or 50% capacity, so many are not doing as well as they did before this started

Your numbers depend solely on the customers willing to spend money there like any business, it wasn’t a dig on your ability to run a business just the statement you made about grateful for people like me not being able to grace your threshold . You know if I want to do business with someone requiring a mask I’ll put one on right ? I’ve always said that . I don’t mind being in a minority when every report I read is contradicted by another one , every expert is guessing just like every non expert and other countries are being held up as beacons for us to follow except for when they produce data we don’t like , such as school openings . Lastly I’m use to being stubborn and in a minority, I pretty much have been all my life , hence my name .. one lil rebel . 😊

Our capacity is difficult to gauge because the venue itself is very large. It's a club. We're doing less than we did pre covid but nightclub profit margins are inherently very high so we're still doing objectively well.

Great! Now, show me where my "reading" is wrong, because the below seem like two very different statements to me.

Does the study even say that the virus is only spread through "significant exposures", or did you just forget to look for that part?
Do you know what the CDC guideline is?

Between the whining about masks being too stuffy and posters calling lawyers every time they get in a fist fight, I'm starting to think big boys are few and far between on this board.

Covid has exposed American concepts of “liberty” to be incredibly base and shallow, just nakedly revealed the modern American political project as fundamentally rotten. It is NOT about the "individual" against government tyranny. The unprecedented leisure and disposable income of many of our citizenry has created an absolute hatred for being inconvenienced in any way. This is one of the end results of modern consumer society. We are living through a kind of global hypercapitalist realism and it,sadly, promotes/requires this mentality in certain individuals.

Some on VN latch onto the most shallow and meaningless ways to signal they are anti-establishment. Meanwhile they hoot in favor of the feds disappearing people in unmarked vans. The idea that your fellow citizens matter is antithetical to modern conservatism. I wonder how many of the people against masks have pontificated about how "all lives matter?"

I’m against me wearing a mask and against you coming closer than 6feet from me or forcing me to put one on , also .. I’ve thought about how many lives actually do matter and to be perfectly honest not all lives matter to me . Do I wish harm on people ? Nah . Do I think all lives matter , also Nah some absolutely don’t to me , not anymore than my life matters to them . That’s just a hard fact . Now before you @ me for being honest , think about your response , then ask yourself just how much you are willing to do for some people .

In before someone says your lack of empathy, capitulation, and altruism makes you a socio/psycho path while they engage in virtue signaling at its worst.

I have a habit of being brutally honest at times . A lot of people don’t like that particular approach , but I’ve found over the years that I’d rather just be honest with you so you don’t have to wonder where I stand on an issue . My lack of empathy for some people is only overshadowed by inability to be politically correct .

Just a bit ironic that a man working a night club where social distancing is lax and people are maskless to drink would call anyone out for being selfish. How far inside the door do your patrons have to be before they remove their mask?

I was asking something like this last night, how the hell does someone go to a restaurant or bar and wear a mask? How do I eat or drink wearing a mask?

That's not what irony is so spare me your poor attempt at a call out, rugby bro.

You can only remove your mask when you are sat with your group. Groups are spaced 6-10 feet apart and masks must be worn when getting up to go outside, or go to the bathroom. Tables and chairs are thoroughly sanitized between use and the bathrooms have full time attendants sanitizing all surfaces and doors between uses.

I don't feel bad unless my staff gets sick. I have a business to run. If my guys stay healthy it's all good. If these folks want to go out during a pandemic, I'll gladly take their money but at the end of the day they are just a means to keep the doors open for me. I seriously doubt going to my venue is the only stupid decision they're making right now.

If masks were so effective then why not mandate them during Flu Season if saving lives is what really matters? If they can prevent COVID then they absolutely can prevent Flu, correct? This whole thing with masks stinks.

1) You can be vaccinated for current flu strains.

2) People tend not to show up, you know, by the dozens at the local ICU, all on the same day.

For starters.
