That's the most striking thing about this "debate". I truly understand if you don't want to wear a mask and I don't think the government should mandate it. I do think as a matter of decency you should at least wear one when asked to . . . even though I think a lot of it is a feel good exercise with a lot of gaps in logic. But the number of anti-mask people who don't seem to have thought any of this through beyond "You're not going to tell me what to do" and then justify it with things that are just obviously wrong blows my mind a little. By the same token . . . if you're super conscientious, don't look down your nose at people when you're somewhere that's minimal risk. You can laugh all you want, but it's clear from the very basic questions you have been asking me in the last 30 minutes that you have not thought this through at all. You really asked me an erroneous question that relies on masks providing 100% protection for the wearer, and even if they did, there are still other externalities. Just sit and ponder the topic a bit and you'll figure out the answers without my help.

EXACTLY! Everybody just needs to shut up with the value judgements and do what they think is best for them.I don't see what's so hard to understand.
People that refuse to wear masks where they are required are the same as the people who "Karen" others for not wearing one when it's not required. Both are azzholes.

The point of wearing one is to prevent spreading it to others.
It's just a really, really dumb hill to die on for the MUH RIGHTS children.
Few if any were wearing masks in the grocery and hardware stores during the peak of the outbreak, how many mass infections traced back to those places?
Look, IDGAF if you want to wear a mask everywhere you go. IDGAF if your bar requires masks to enter, so please extend the same courtesy to those not wearing a mask where not required.
Problem is that a big chunk of the mask crowd does actually GAF because dinguses like you are only contributing to this spike and ultimately hampering the economy.
Just wear a damn mask and stop being a baby over something so incredibly stupid.
I live about an hour south of ATL but I travel all over the place and I think you're exactly right. People will do what they see other people do. Some of the anti-mask thing is people just not wanting to look different which probably is what is contributing to the spread in some rural counties where the spread doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.I think environment has a lot to do with the way people think on this. Aren't you in Atlanta? I'm in Phoenix. Everybody wears masks here now because it's mandated, but at least half the people were wearing masks before the mandate. I wasn't sure what to think about anything (the science was really bad and confusing at the onset) and I admit, I didn't wear a mask at all at first. I think it's easier for someone like me to choose to wear a mask because it's happening around me and it seems normal. Also, I've traveled the world a bit and that normalized mask-wearing.
When I went to visit my parents in small town Utah, nobody was wearing masks. My Dad's best friend and his whole family got COVID and they were miserable. So my parents know it's real and they still don't wear masks and it's because few in their town do (probably the libs from the college). If you go to a restaurant there, the workers have masks and maybe 10% of the customers do.
I respect your right to be selfish. I really do.Dingus, I do wear a mask when required. Unlike you I respect a person's/businesses right to make their own choices. I don't complain about it and don't bitch about people who wear them everywhere they go.
I think there should be a national mandate against incompetent governors putting old sick people back in nursing homesThat tool wants a national mask mandate and wants people to quarantine when they visit his state . . . yet 3 days ago he spoke in Savannah, GA and didn't wear a mask despite a city ordinance.
Prove where I don't give a **** about rights or cease this charade of being a big, fat, blubbering baby.
If anyone's virtue signaling, it's you with this candy ass don't tread on me shtick.
I'm the blubbering baby? I'm not the one whining like a little bitch because people won't wear a mask when they don't have to. That would be you.
