POLL: Expectations for 2024/2025

Honestly, my expectations are to see them playing more physical… Finishing strong, guarding better, playing physical is what I want to see… I’m okay with losing a game knowing we fought for 40 minutes… I feel like the toughness is missing from this program.

And toughness has to be at the top

One thing i do like about CKC from the onset,,,she seems capable of "that stare"

Exceeded already. I thought some of our individual players (Coop, Ruby, Sam) would have a promising season but that players who were recruited under Kellie might languish. I also did not know if this style of play would work. While we have had lapses in our half court offense, it is better than it wss under Kellie and many of our returning players look fantastic. Think we need to win a "big" game, but that was never my expectation for this season. I just wanted to preserve our NCAA tourny streak and am getting greedy.

I voted NCAA 2nd round in this poll, but I'd say we look at least like a Sweet 16 team. The other thing I didn't really expect or predict is how much fun this team and style of play is to watch! The fast pace, distributed scoring, 3-point shooting, and leave-it-all-on-the-floor style just make for really fun basketball for fans (and it seems the players, too). The pressure defense and rebounding bring back some nostalgia for 90's Pat teams and the high-scoring and 3-point shooting (and even the hockey line subs, which I've finally gotten used to) feel modern and exciting.

I think we're becoming a team that fans of women's basketball want to watch again - on top of getting Tennessee/local fans re-engaged (I've lost count of how many times I've read/heard, "This is the first time I've watched the team since [15+ years ago]").
