Whitelaw Reid will still have us unranked.

Can somebody tell me what this guy's problem is? I knew there was one guy that didn't have us ranked, but I didn't know who it was until now. Is he a vol hater in general, ticked off at Pearl, or what? :bad:

Well, for starters, he's a Vandy grad. Huge problem.

He "justified" his omission of Tennessee by saying that one win over a good team doesn't erase the team's earlier struggles. He mentioned the exhibition game loss, which is hilarious, and he also mentioned the close games against teams like Belmont and Missouri State (if I remember correctly). I don't know if he has something against Tennessee, but even if that's the case, any credible sportswriter needs to be able to put bias aside in the face of overwhelming evidence.

He's proven himself to be a bit of a douche, and it's clear that he's not very good at evaluating college basketball teams. There's no way he can leave us off of his ballot at this point, but I'm betting we'll still be pretty low. The best part will be seeing where he puts us in relation to the juggernaut Vanderbilt.

I think Duke, OSU, Kansas, KSU, UConn, and Syracuse stay in front of us...

My guess is 7th in both polls.
