This is my concern too. Why did our staff not adjust on both sides of the ball? I hope the media has the courage to ask this question. 7 points against USA is unacceptable.

Sadly I do not think that the media will ask the question.

Anyone who votes "yes", clearly hasn't read other forums

Texas and USC are far worse.

Georgia and Florida are worse.

In pro sports, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston/Dallas and Pittsburgh/Philly are worse.

No. That honor belongs to the Florida Gators.

Honestly, most of the major programs have their share of moron fans. It's just that we encounter idiot Vol fans more often than idiot Wolverine fans or idiot Sooner fans.

We have become Vandy all these people that are ok with the performance of the team. And before you flame, I'm not talking about wins and losses. I expected the record we currently have. I did however, expect to offer a little more resistance than air against Oregon and I did expect us to be competitive against Florida and I didn't expect us to have to make a game saving interception in the endzone against a team that just started a football program 5 years ago.

I can't believe this fanbase is ok with the level of play, talent starved as it is. I'm not calling for his head as that's ludicrous, but I don't think fans that are objective are irrational.

I am going to try to be more respectful of the opinions of my fellow Vol fans.

I really am going to try.

But would help if they stopped their pusillanimous whining fawning over Spurrier, Saban and anything related to Vandy.

I live in Alabama.

You should hear the idiots calling into radio shows after the Colorado State game.

UT fans are passionate and emotional and we're also completely beaten down. A proud fanbase has had to endure 5-7, 7-6, 6-7, 5-7 and 5-7. This year we'll be happy with 6-6. Next year probably the same.

So, seriously? Don't give me the "UT FANS DUMB/IRRATIONAL" derp line. We've accepted being mediocre with a glint of hope for being better 2 years from now. That's where we're at. It isn't "next game" it isn't "next year"... it's "we'll be good 2 years from now".

We're just not going to be happy about our team almost allowing a Sun Belt team into our house and almost beating us. South Alabama was our 3rd embarrassing game in a row.. regardless of how you swing it.

What a stupid poll, and y'all are stupid to say we are the most irrational. Remember the UGly crier after the Pups lost to Clemson? Didn't Frank Solich get fired from Nebraska after "only" an 8-win season? Didn't Bill Curry get fired from Bama after a 10-win season (or at least a year removed)?
Most people are not calling for Jones' head, myself included. But you have to admit there is no way a third-year football team should play an SEC squad down to the wire.

Giving the FACTS that Jones has very little talent on this team and our dumbass fans having insanely unrealistic expectations of this group, are we the most irrational and ignorant fan base in America?

No. Stop being an idiot.

Name me one other major college fanbase that wouldn't be upset with barely beating S. Alabama. Or getting decimated by Oregon. Or putting up all of 6 yards in a half against Florida. No major program's fans would be happy about that.

What are these "insanely unrealistic expectations" you speak of? Completing a 5 yard pass? Not turning the ball over constantly? Winning comfortably over a team that got beat by Southern Utah? Crazy.

All I know is, this constant stream of negative comments about the program, coaches, current players, former players, or even potential players does NOTHING but hurt the program and make the fans more discontent. I enjoy catching up and staying informed with what's going on, but wading through all the bull*** is getting ridiculous. For the good of the program I really wish the mods would start removing these posts as soon as they hit. Or just start another post category called b****ing and whining a** holes so these people can go wallow in their own despair and leave the rest of us alone.

In terms of pure irrationality, all New York teams in any sport are at the top of the list. Every single year, their teams should win championships because "this is New York." It doesn't matter to them what the product on the field actually is or how good the competition might be in any given year.

It is the most arrogant, delusional, and entitled viewpoint possible about a sports team.

The constant excuses and acceptance of mediocre play makes others just as peeved. Maybe the mods should start a "All Vol Utopia" forum.
