Yes, because we can go toe to toe with Russia on oil production. I swear I have no idea what world you people live in.

It doesn't require out producing them. Further, our Nat Gas production particularly paired with export capabilities can exert downward pressure on the price. Even a 20% cut in prices is going to hit Russia hard.

There are steps we could take on the energy front that would cause significant financial harm to Russia

HIs attorney hatched the plan. Unlikely it was done without Trump approval. Trump was the president at the time which leaves his stain on the GOP.

I may have confused with you with another poster stating the plan was to impeach Biden and Harris and install McCarthy after midterms.
That was me 😂

The real world where left wing policies add to the wealth of Russia. Why do you think Germany refuses to get involved? Their ignorant left wing policies have put them in this situation.

Outside of China their largest exporters of oil are Germany and Netherlands.

We can't control Germany's poor energy policies, but we can export our products to Germany. Germany is also the world's largest importer of natural gas, you know, that stuff we are really good at fracking in this country.

Increasing our energy production generates additional competition for Russia, which means less money in the pockets of Russia.

I don't know how many people on this forum have ever been to Germany, but it is the grayest, gloomiest place on the planet. If anyone were going to pick a place to close down nuclear power plants and put up solar cells to take their place, this wouldn't be it. The Germans need to accept Russia as its dominant partner and admit defeat again.

If Russia drops prices they have less money for invading Ukraine. How’s that bad?

It's an extremely expensive venture to produce and export petroleum products in/from Russia. The infrastructure isn't there yet.

Don’t knock the whole place. You must be thinking of the gloomy humourless Prussians and North Germans. The Southern Bavarians are a much more sunny and upbeat bunch.

Isn’t that more reason we should be dominating in terms of supplying Germany with energy?

They can operate at a profitable price point that is lower than any other country on earth.

Where the **** do you get this ****? SA has a breakeven of around $7 a barrel Russia is nowhere close to that, they are in the $40-60 per barrel range. Of course that's an estimate because they do not report since they are not beholden to stockholders.

Many like to falsely see Russia as greater than they are. Maybe all the Russian propaganda on cnn and msnbc

I think I saw today that we are buying oil from mother Russia. WTF is up with that? Biden shuts down oil production from our own country so we can buy it from mother Russia? Someone explain to me how Trump is in the pocket of Putin?

Venezeulan sanctions. They can't import the heavy sour stuff from Venezuela so they've been getting it from Russia, which has a very similar type of crude.

Anyone who thinks that this is just "happening now" hasn't been paying attention for the last 15 years.
Who was president and VP when Russia started grabbing up land in Ukraine? How much land was lost when they left? And what's the common denominator now that Putin is preparing to grab up land again?

There was all this hysteria over Trump and Putin while Trump was president. The reality is democrats are more friendly with Putin. Putin and Russia have also been able to accomplish more while democrats are in charge.
