Poor Sportsmanship?

As a competitor I would find it far more embarrassing when someone else gives up and goes easy on me.

Why do I need them to give me less than their all? What does that prove? And if people were openly calling for the other team to go easy, that's about the worst insult imaginable. Thank you for pointing out that I'm so totally inept that other people have to beg for my opponent to give up because I can't do anything to stop it.
Can't give this enough likes.

Obviously these commentators aren’t familiar with the old term, “It’s the defense job to stop them.”

You’re giving these young guys reps for next year.

What’s the big deal?
💯. These guys are in college. There’s no mercy rule and no room for snowflakes on a football field. What advantage is there for a team for the backups to only take a knee? Then, we let the clock run while on the 1 yard line anyway.

Dude, come on. You know we should have taken a knee.
Maybe in this game ok. But during the seaon, no. Many of the rankings are determined by how much you beat a team. I agree with a big lead late in the game, u put in your 2's. But continue to play your regular offense.

Also, we couldn't "run out the clock". They still had their timeouts. And given how Iowa was playing, they might've taken them.

It wasn't till we got the final 1st down that we could run out the clock.
This and it's that simple, let's complain about a blow out. lol

I wanted to see us score. Announcers were very excited to se the Iowa back up make big plays. And they went for it twice on fourth and long when they could’ve “conceded.” But they let their backups play. I was happy to see us letting our backups play and I think it was very classy of us to not to score that last TD.

Talking heads. They get paid to spew their opinion and say what they see..... Not develop a championship football program. There is a reason nobody is paying them millions to be a head coach. They are butthurt that Iowa lost and Vols dominated. They aren't considering that in one snap GM could be our qb and needs valuable reps.

I'm so confused. We scored at the end?? What did I miss???
We attempted to score with Moore in at the end. Iowa still had all their TOs as well. Once we got the first down we ran out the clock. Heupel gave Moore a few chances to have a moment in his last game as a Vol. People were very butt hurt that another TD might break the psyche of the Iowa football program.

If those were my kids out there that had given everything for Tennessee football but never saw the field I would be hugging Coaches neck for giving them the opportunity to do something rather than kneel the ball. I am still pissed we weren’t able to score.

Come to think of it, I actually still kinda pissed that heupel didn’t let navy shuler score against candy with his dad standing there on the sidelines.
