Porn in the USA: Conservatives Are Biggest Consumers

That may be true, but IMO conservatives can't just pretend that everything is OK because we just got run over by a charismatic candidate. There are fundamental problems with the GOP right now.

And you couldn't be more right. All he is is Charismatic. Full of a promise to make our children and grandchildren suffer for bailing every pos... and these banks... I'm just so grossed out with everything he does and says.

This may have been addressed, if so I apologize, but how do you know that Niss? Where are the statistics to back up your claim? This was a polarizing election to be sure and it brought out new voters on both sides. Saying it had everything to do with race is oversimplifying it and is unfair whether your Liberal or Conservative. You should take more care when throwing that around. And Yes, I read ALL of your post. What followed the initial statement was equally offensive.

wear your feelings on your sleeve much? or just playing the race card?

The country is solidly Republican, has been for some time. The problem is when you get a leader like Bush, the voters who want change have to go to the other party.

IMO, the screw up from a political standpoint was Bush running with Dick Cheney again in 2004 rather than naming a VP that would be a plausible candidate in 2008 to be his successor.

Wait a minute. I'm not being offensive, I'm stating what I saw and what I know to be true, at least here in my area. So why have I been offensive to you? Are you a black that is a first time voter of a guy b/c he was black and not b/c you agreed with his politics? Then and only then can I see where you'd be pissy with me, otherswise just continue the discussion. YES, I def KNOW there were more black voters than there ever have been before. It not only was historical for his victory but for the voter turn out and YES, I can support this with a link so I'm looking b/c I know I'll be nailed otherwise.

Thats another problem with both parties, they don't nominate the guy with the best shot of winning.

The way the enconomy tanked, I think Romney would have looked very good, plus he's very sharp and could hold his own in a debate.

Kerry was a joke for the democrats, the fact they lost that race is pretty ridiculous, he was about as weak of a 2 term President as we had.

Thing about it is, he's not fully using his charismatic traits to get people excited, he just keeps talking down.

Yes, there was. However, this alone didn't net Obama the win.

It didn't damn hurt and it certainly didn't do diddily doo for the Republicans. IN FACT, I dare say if most of the "Voters" (that's for you occio.. geeez) knew what they were voting on, they would have voted for McCain. But they didn't they just knew to go with color.

Somehow, I don't see myself voting for McCain, in any scenario.

Cheney had no desire to run for President after calling all the shots for the last 8 years.

Do you really think there is a single state that Obama won due to the black vote that he wasn't going to win anyway?

Why not? Good Lord.. I mean seriously? If there ever was a reason to fight, wouldn't freedom be it? and if there was a chance a baby could survive, you supprt kiling it? And you like lazy folks being rewarded? You like 3rd and 4th generation welfare recipients? You like paying taxes out the wazoo? You like more govt? You like the govt telling you what to do with your money? Democrats vote says this "I'm not a big boy/big girl yet, so I still need the govt to take care of me."

Well, ya know, honestly, I'm not sure about that one. I just know there was a lot of emotion running this election and race DEF played it's role.

Hmm, a 72 year old man, who sold out to the Rush part of the Republican party. The man wavered on his signature issue, waterboarding, going from "it's torture", to "It might be torture", to "It's not torture".

Don't even get me started on Sarah Palin.

You could argue that North Carolina, Virginia and maybe Florida were swung by the black vote, but McCain could have won all of those states and still ended up well short.

I don't really think the message even mattered in 2008. Short of the reincarnation of Lincoln or Reagan, the Republican candidate was going to get shelled in this election once the economy went in the toilet.

You've got to be kidding. Part of his problem was that he was way too moderate and some of the base stayed home.

That was true. McCain had a small lead before the economy did a 1987 and went nuts.

Look, if he was as moderate as some would lead you to believe, he could've won. I remember Rush talking about how he'd rather Hillary Clinton win than McCain early in the election cycle. That all changed once Obama won the nomination. McCain wanted to differentiate from Obama. Problem was, Obama did a good job showing how much like Bush, McCain was, even if it wasn't true.
