This is "sport" for me. A distraction. I love the Vols but none of this is life or death. If I ever really start truly hating any of these guys... it will be time to find a new distraction.

Real life has more than enough difficulty. We just learned a couple of weeks ago that my wife's cancer has returned and spread. We're going for a 2nd opinion this Friday but the first one wasn't the kind of "option" you ever want to hear.

We've pulled it together a little bit now but the idea of losing someone I've been with for 35 years and really the only woman I've ever loved still doesn't seem possible. I shed more tears in two days than the rest of my adult life put together.

I’m sorry brother. I’m praying that the 2nd opinion is possitive one or that the doctor has some options lined up to go forward. My heart breaks for you. My best friend went through it but I still can’t imagine if it was my wife, I don’t think we can.

If Dickey does come back, I could see that pushing someone else to the portal. Only 3 OF spots and one DH. Someone is bound to get left out.

I think you will definitely see some guys from the current roster enter the portal post fall ball. But all that will mean is that they were beat out in a competition by someone better, which at the end of the day is a good thing.

Ultimately they’ve got room to get 13 position guys a decent amount of ABs. You can platoon DH with a lefty and righty, you can play a couple of guys at catcher, can play 4 OFs and can have an extra infielder too.

Galanie was brought in for a reason. He is a power right handed bat that Tennessee didn’t have much depth of. Kid is a stud and people thought he would have been drafted lot earlier. He is gonna play.

Yep, it is really bizarre to me how many people think Galanie isn’t that good. Got a bunch of people who said he wouldn’t qualify as big news before we landed him too. This is a top 100 draft prospect caliber player who has multiple years of elite level production at multiple solid levels of baseball. Sure the Socon isn’t the sec but it’s still a pretty good league and he dominated it. Has also completely dominated the cape this summer too

Our lineup could actually be better on paper than LSU’s this year top to bottom. Could be scary good.

I don’t think we have a crews/white/Morgan level top 3, but I do think you’re probably right that the bottom half of our lineup will probably be better than theirs was, and even though our top isn’t gonna be quite there’s, it’s still going to be very strong

Denton kinda not surprised he hasn’t been picked. I thought 11-13 range for him. But Dickey and Galanie not being picked yet is kinda mind blowing

We will see what happens tomorrow, but at some point they could’ve told teams you need to pay me X and teams just didn’t do it, so they aren’t gonna pick them.

Dickey has tons of leverage still and he’s got a pretty damn good gig in Knoxville too. If teams need to see him dominate the sec again then he can come back and do it again. He will have plentiful NIL opportunities in the mean time as the face of the program.

Galanie has less leverage, but at this point if teams are gonna lowball him, then you might as well try to go to the sec and dominate it. You still don’t have leverage, but if you’re already getting lowballed it’s not going to change much anyways. Maybe you dominate in a way that you end up making yourself some money, while also having a very fun year

They love Chapman, a lot. Unfortunately all 3 of Tears/Dreiling/Chapman are lefties. If you bring Dickey and Galanie back, it feels really hard for all 3 of those guys to get a decent amount of ABs next year. Would be a crazy competition

Might could play 2B if CMo goes to the OF. Honestly, and this is JMO, but if you put CMo in CF and Dickey in LF, I'd rather see Tears or Dreiling in RF than Ensley. But that's without even considering the bats coming in with the recruiting class. I think SS would either be Kendro or someone coming in.

I think Amick will get tried out at 2B if Galanie comes to campus. They’ll probably try both. I think CMo to OF is a real possibility, but also possible he stays at 2B, Amick takes 3B and Galanie and Dickey are your corner OF

Because it’s not always about talent. There’s tons of kids picked ahead of kids more talented. Just how the MLB works. He probably has a number that he told teams “I need this or I’m going to tennessee” and they might not meet it. He’s an older prospect and a lot of franchises like to take chances on younger kids.

If this dude shows up to TN he’s going to hit over .300 with 15+ HRs. Would be a massive win for Tony V to get him to campus and he absolutely will find his way into the lineup somewhere

I couldn’t pick, all I know is that TN is very deep in it with Holman. Beam has been on him hard for over a week - that stuff helps a lot. And burns who the hell knows. Stopped trying to figure that one out. I think the longer it lingers the better chance he’s back. He was for sure gone, then there was a week they were almost definitely getting him back, then he was going to tcu. And then that fell through. Imo and at least one of his former teammates opinions it’s in his best interest to go back, and I do not think bridges are burned and they would gladly welcome him back. We shall see

I think there’s a scenario you land both, but I wouldn’t expect that
