Portal Activity (News and Rumors)

Worked for the Colliers right out of UT and spent a lot of time at that restaurant. My job was to handle complaints from all of the restaurants under the Collier umbrella. You’d be surprised how many northern tourists don’t understand that the pink in the meat is from smoke, not the meat being raw.
So you know Doug Taylor!!!!!!

Wondering if anyone has the same thoughts as me about this so here goes:

I don’t want Holman.

I don’t mind portal, it’s out of my control so no need worrying with it. But Vols have enough good arms who I want to ride with and I don’t want anyone from Bama. Yeah I know Denton worked out but he is a Tennessee kid who was coming home. Holman is some random kid who started at Bama. And it’s not like he’s chase Burns and some can’t miss ace. I hope he goes somewhere else. I know you can never have enough arms but ……..

Am I alone here ?
Not sure why you don’t want anyone from Bama, just saying my kid was from Bama and is a true VFL!!!

Yes.

Good point! And well I meant the Univ of Alabama and not the state in general. Just was trying to say it’s different with the portal to root against a rival and then a few weeks after season ends wanting him to come to Knoxville. Anyway I came around after some fellow VM posters made some good arguments against mine.

I’ve been checking the LSU On3 board hoping to get an update on how the Holman visit went for them, but their mods are basically non-existent over there. It’s weird. Complete radio silence all week on his recruitment and baseball coverage in general. Speaks volumes of just how good the VQ team is.

Jordan is a true VFL. I guess the big difference is he initially chose TN and not Bama. Very thankful for that and congrats on his early success in the minors.

Has their On3 team got up and going successfully yet In other sports?

Maybe their 247 is the place with info?

Thank you and thanks to everyone, I sure do like reading everything in this forum really makes me laugh a lot!! GBO!!!!

@MrCBeck you know that we appreciate Jordan and enjoy praising his accomplishments. I'll throw one more in that as a scientist I always thought it was great that Jordan was an Anthropology major. I hope he enjoyed his coursework!

They have an On3 board just like Tennessee. Same format and same style. It seems that they aren’t as well staffed as VQ and their coverage is almost entirely football centric. It’s just dead over there compared to VQ. Not as many people talking either.

Mississippi State has a title in the last 3 years and plays in the best stadium in college baseball, all while playing in the greatest conference in college sports where you’re playing on TV every weekend. It’s close between the two. The only thing Stanford holds the advantage in is the degree and the fact that they’ve made Omaha 3 straight years (haven’t won anything there though). In no world is Stanford “the obvious choice” over State.
Stanford is a blue blood in terms of the number of trips to CWS.

I can't imagine anybody that is living in Palo Alto attending Stanford University that would visit Starkville Mississippi and tell himself, yep this is where I want to live.

If you’re from Mississippi, as Braden is, then it’s likely different. He’s coming home, potentially going to school with childhood friends, family can come to every game, you’re royalty in the state and on campus and the resources/environment/facilities are unmatched anywhere in the country.
