I can't handle this crap anymore. I really can't.

Something has to be done. There's more movement than at the professional level. And the players' rear ends are being kissed more than at the professional level.

This isn't good and mark my words, there will be a day where it effects the viewership and bottom line.
There’s more movement because there’s more immaturity at the collegiate level. For years, collegiate athletics made bank on the backs of players and now the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction. At some point it’ll have to even out. I’m looking forward to when it does.

I agree . I’m tired of recruiting & re-recruiting the same people every year. I’m a low level donor( 5 figure) and really don’t make a difference. To me, it’s not worth it, I will always root for the Vols but this S**t is ridiculous .

That’s about where I’m at and if it weren’t for the baseball and basketball programs, I think I’d be taking a huge step back and reevaluating. That and having a kid down there at school, it gives me an excuse to go and see him.

CFB is a a crossroads with the average fan like me. I hate all this!!! The interest in it is going out the door!
If a kid bleeds orange and get paid more to wear blue, and he takes it then I get it, but it sure takes away from what college football is, at least in my mind. Pride, bragging rights, history, etc really no longer matter and that’s a sad shame. It’s what made it so great

No it's not. This was the most profitable year yet for college football with more viewers than ever. You and others keep saying this, but the numbers say that college football has never been more popular.

Also, I don't see the whining when a player commits to us from the portal. I'm sure fans would be outraged if Travis Hunter, for instance, decided to stay in college and transfer to Tennessee. I'm sure they'd be so mad to find out our program had been talking to him all season and he agreed to come here. I'm sure all the self-righteous preaching about this new era would continue and people would rebuke such an action.

I can't believe I am agreeing with a Gator! But I do agree. 2025 will probably be my last year for tickets and donations.

If you really feel that way, why not sell your 2025 tickets for face value? I am sure fans will snap them up in a New York minute.

Face value = ticket value + donation value + fees. I have yet to make any money off of tickets I sell because I am not going to the game.

The reality is I desire to support players who are just as invested in being a Tennessee Volunteer as I am.

Do you really think teams losing and replacing 10% to 20% of their roster each year is good for the game?

The truth is when this bites us and we end up 7-5, 8-4 etc. and not making the playoffs, remember the issue is not really the coach anymore - it is players that jump ship.

NIL is not to be controlled by the University or the coach - so it isn't their problem to solve.

I think the main issue with #5 is that NIL is not under the control of universities. The issue may be resolved by universities contracting with players as employees. Universities can offer 1-5 yr. contracts with higher annual "salaries" for longer-term commitments. Lots of details would have to be worked out in the contracts (injuries, conduct, academics, performance, etc.).
We have lawyers on speed dial. In fact, they probably have the contract template ready to go! Just add player name and $ and lock ‘em up - figuratively not literally.
