'25 Portal Thread

The recruiting forum is morphing into the football forum
The fact that we have seemingly equal numbers of people that complain about the excessive negativity and excessive positivity makes me believe that it isn’t.

We got pantsed on a national stage just 24 hours ago. Things are gonna be a bit negative for a few days. The pendulum will swing back.

Did we expect more given the fact we're playing in the post season?

When does this window close?
Doesn’t matter when it closes at this point.

Most of the “good” players have already entered and committed to schools.

Hopefully some of these other playoff teams lose studs to the portal. Or we get lucky during spring.

In this video, SportsTalkJ shows a chart of rankings from #1 to #16 in money spent on their respective football teams.
Tennessee is at #16 at $11+ million, around half of what the top spenders are paying.

According to On3's ranking of NIL collectives, Spyre is at #2 behind Ohio State's 1870 Society & Project.

16th ranking was a BS guess from an analyst I think at 247. That has already been debunked.

Does anyone know the number of OL that we’ve signed out of high school in the Heupel era that have never seen a meaningful snap here?
All of them lol bc 0 have started a game

There is still hope for the 24 and 25 class obviously but the first 3 turned out all bad.. that’s why we have had to portal and rely on Pruitt players

Lewis is going to be a really good RB. He's not a patient runner right now and it has led to him bulldozing into the pile for small gains more often than not. That's probably just his inexperience showing. He's been looking better recently and it wouldn't surprise me if he wins the job this Spring.
Was that Peyton Lewis's stats or Jamal Lewis?

Evaluating who fits the culture, 3 star kid from Sacramento State pass on an All American from a power 4 because no bidding war etc… same ole same ole.
lol. Remind me again who we outbid for David Sanders?

That said you’re not wrong. Why the hell would we go after Suggs if we can spend a little more and get a better player?

Yeah I changed it to “starting” that’s my fault.

I don’t know what you’re definition of meaningful is, but it’s probably under 10. I don’t count snaps against backups as meaningful.

If you’re talking about starting, it’s 0
No, I asked how many have never played a meaningful snap. But it doesn’t matter, I think you see my point.

We’ve been carrying this entire position group of underclassmen whose only role has been to practice, watch, and sometimes transfer out.

At this point, there should be five to seven seasoned linemen who would be ready to form a strong unit next year. Instead we’re hoping to gap fill and maybe get contributions from one or two.

Suggs left LSU cause he thought he should be getting more playing time.

Going from D2 to LSU and expects playing time. Like come on.

Imagine him being a rotational piece here and getting upset he isn’t starting. Just ends up leaving again.
