We should have let him play more on offense to begin with. Why I have no idea. That’s on the coaches. It’s obvious what he was somewhat capable of just returning some punts. Heupel and company don’t seem to play and develop young players as much as they probably should
Squirrel had 30+ catches as a freshman. We’ve eased freshman RB’s in. We’ve played freshmen LB’s and in the secondary. The bottom line is it’s usually tough for a freshman to make a huge impact in the SEC. Ryan Willams did this year. It’s tough to learn both sides that early, but I know that most don’t want to develop anymore.

Since I don't completely understand how the NIL works, do players only sign 1 year deals and negotiate after each year? If so, why not sign to a 3-4 year deal and have a penalty for breaking the contract, or is that even an option? A contract can be written so that if a player is better than we think, he/she gets $ increases for each criteria met. If not as good, then a team is stuck with the contract or buy it out and let them walk.

NIL technically isn't pay for play, so you can't really sign contracts.

If no contract, does each side agree to all incentives by handshake? A meditator? Something has to make it binding or both sides can renege at any time. I couldn't imagine Gabriel telling Oregon he wants 1 million game throughout playoffs or he will go pro/transfer immediately. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but Pandora's box has been opened and not sure what closes it.

I don't have an answer to that, but this might.
Jaden Rashads and Florida
UNLV QB. Can't remember his name.

Both supposedly had deals in place that they never got paid for.
