Campbell wasn’t good. Sanders and Heard will be early favorites to start - time to see if Elarbee can develop the depth and have some competition there. Got some good young talent on paper. So, with Campbell declaring who is it starting o line this season?
Shaky, unproven o line shaky unproven wr, shaky unproven RB group. That's not a recipe for success.
I'm officially worried.
We’ve got a buncha nice guys on the offensive staff and Hype seems like the only alpha with genuine competitive intensity. Wish we would’ve brought in the best available OC after Golesh left - it’s ok to talk about chasing championships but when you get wrecked on and off the field by every title contender you face, gotta reevaluate or you start sounding like Dabo.Whatever dude. When our football team is gutted because our coaches wr/ OL particularly are not putting a product on the field along with Halze not adding anything imaginative you may come around.
If some of the player development and scheme issues don’t get fixed and next year is a bust, then we may not keep him. He is a special talent, though, and he would look great in Pantone 151.The problem with our offense the past two years is that we run extremely limited route trees. Some plays there is literally only one receiver to throw to.
I honestly don't think the issue is him processing the field as it is he's waiting for someone to come open.... At least on most occasions. If you break down this offense on about 5 of the 8 pass plays we run there are only 1 or 2 receivers to throw to, the others on the opposite side if the field don't even run routes, they just break out of their stance and run a few steps then stop.
The offense is an issue.... Like a serious issue. If I'm a QB I wouldn't come here to run it...... And I'm a Vol fan. As it stands I don't think we keep Faison because of this.
