I don’t disagree at all. I just think if you know you must be subtle / vague, then you should expect questions from fanatics. Handling said questions with grace / decency would go a lot further with paying members.AP's job requires him to have some tact and to be discreet, or else he will lose the connections he has made. If he learns a kid is going to commit, it's very distasteful to ruin that kids moment by openly telling everyone. Which is why he uses subtle clues to release info at times. It's a way to share insider info without stepping on anyone's toes.
And obviously, he isn't gonna comment about players not currently in the portal, because that would open TN up to potential tampering issues. And TN and its sports reporters aren't alone in that endeavor. No writers/reporters from other schools are doing it either. That would be career suicide.
And who recruited the WRs talent problem the last 4 years that transferred??Seeing where our transfer WRs have ended up tells you all you need to know about the talent problem we had…..
Addition by subtraction……
Just like last years DB room…..
And who recruited the WRs talent problem the last 4 years that transferred??
Squirrel White is the ONLY high school recruit to start in the last 4 years that this staff brought in from high school. Same goes for the offense line not a single recruit from high school has started a single game.
The entitlement of people to demand that AP tell them information that he is not authorized to spill is really weird. I understand why he gets snarky when he gets the same questions asked repeatedly. Any normal person would get agitated.AP's job requires him to have some tact and to be discreet, or else he will lose the connections he has made. I mean, if that's my job, that people are paying me for, then I keep my agitation to myself. AP isn't doing it for free. Like I said, I understand he has info he just can't share, but you also don't piss on your customers. The entitlement of people to demand that AP tell them information that he is not authorized to spill is really weird. OK,The answer to this would be no. The stuff he does put out is, "TN is in on this kid, TN is in a good spot" Very vague on alot of his answers to save face incase he is wrong. I dont follow recruiting info from him. Its as bad as coach speak many of times.
This right here! Idk why people don’t understand this. Read between the lines, listen to what’s not being said, and recruiting is fluid. Most importantly, don’t get bent outta shape. You’re grown (probably) act like it.AP's job requires him to have some tact and to be discreet, or else he will lose the connections he has made. It's weird to me that we keep having to work the portal for WR and OL every year. It's almost like the people who coach those positions aren't developing the kids they recruit from HS.
Bru came from the portal. Brazzell came from the portal. Now we're looking for another WR to start from the portal. We can go back further to Velus and JP also coming from the portal. As for OL, we keep going to the portal for starters there as well. The other positions seem to have stabilized, but WR and OL, not so much. How many of those spots have we had open? Squirrel, Bru, and 3/5 of the OL had been here for forever until this year when Squirrel and Bru were still here and 2/5 of the OL had been here forever
