He only had 3-4 carries on the goal line that game. The rest of his carries were normal situations. He played the whole game, not just mop up dirty. The focus on his YPC is weird, but 5.3 is perfectly fine and had he not been used in goal line/mop up duty against MSU, it would be much higher.
He had 10 of 14 carries after the score was 30-14.He only had 3-4 carries on the goal line that game. The rest of his carries were normal situations. He played the whole game, not just mop up dirty.
Lewis in SEC play only is below 4ypc.
I’ve already talked about both Bishop and Lewis, they are both behind where Sampson was at this point.
There’s been 3-4 RBs hit the portal that really could’ve helped up next season.
I’ll obviously trust the coaches, but it’s a head scratcher.
Yeah but they're way better than Small and Wright were in 2021 and they still ran all over ppl.He only had 3-4 carries on the goal line that game. The rest of his carries were normal situations. He played the whole game, not just mop up dirty.

Probably because "someone who supposedly knew some inside info" said we were planning on adding a "splash player" at WR and another for a "depth piece."No clue why everyone latched on to that comment.
Good pointYeah but they're way better than Small and Wright were in 2021 and they still ran all over ppl.
Still need one more guy I think.
Lewis plowing through UGA showed me all I need to see. He's so physically ahead already. He may be a problem, but Bishop is injury prone. Need a 3rd.
Really feels like we need a dang stud WR, one more OL, and I'd like a DT.
Was looking at the roster and we really do bring back a lot. Just need to develop guys, but there's a decent amount of upperclassmen.
My question is, would you really call him high-end with the level he’s played?I don't think we want to spend on a high-end RB
I actually have no opinion on him other than 1) i haven't heard his name 2) i clicked on his ESPN profile and assumed even though a lower level he'll be more expensive than what we want to spend on a depth piece. My question is, would you really call him high-end with the level he’s played?
His offer list so far has been kind of meh. He just looks like a RB made for this system, but at the same time he does have a lot of similarities to Bishop in a way
Guess I answered my own question in a way lpl
Nothing has changed in terms of what I think we'll try to do fwiw.Probably because "someone who supposedly knew some inside info" said we were planning on adding a "splash player" at WR and another for a "depth piece."
Also, we were going to be big spenders in January in the transfer portal.
So why wouldn't we think something?
How do you know those RBs that hit the portal are better than what we have? I think as soon as Lewis learns patience, he will be a beast. He doesn't have the sudden acceleration that Sampson has, but his speed can compensate for that.He only had 3-4 carries on the goal line that game. The rest of his carries were normal situations. He played the whole game, not just mop up dirty.

Thank you. I appreciate you commenting on the post. Actually hearing you confirming that you still believe it will happen makes me feel better about our situation. Just all the negatives on here and people asking why we are stuck on this was the reason for the post. But again, it's much appreciated.Nothing has changed in terms of what I think we'll try to do fwiw.
IMO it looked like lewis was playing a good bit before he was really ready, albeit due to seldons injury and lack of depth, but i also think his potential is incredibly high and hes going to settle into it, fully agree with your notes on improvement with vision and footwork.Lewis averaged 5.3 YPC and was used in short yardage situations a lot. I think that checks out. Granted, his huge game against Kent State and a few other garbage time carries probably boost his numbers a little, but still.
I do agree that he has plenty of room to improve, particularly with his vision and wiggle. He didn't make many people miss as a freshman, but he could break tackles because of his frame and strength.
A dude his size with his kind of speed is rare. He needs to learn how to be more than just straight line speed, though, and improve his footwork.
I’ve said this already. Take away the meh games. Why is Lewis’ 5.3 ypc “not great,” yet Wright’s 4.8 ypc as a freshman is great?
