Honestly, even if it were Tate, you would still likely see comments like "this guy was never better than the third option at Ohio State but he is instantly our best receiver. Confirms how big of a gap there is between us and the top teams". If it is Innis, it'll be "this guy could barely get on the field at Ohio State and he is supposed to be our savior lol". If it is neither, it becomes "our staff was asleep at the wheel while other teams were going out and grabbing difference makers. Pathetic."Yep. And if it’s Innis, I actually think that’s a better fit for what Tennessee needs in this offense. But you can’t tell the meltdowners that.
Put me down for believing it’s Innis…
I don’t think Swain or Josh did into inside info on stuff like that. Swain legit gets excited when he sees kids in the portal even when we don’t pursue. He also talks about kids that are already ruled out, like Breedlove. Ben quickly shut that down on Swain Event on TuesdaySwain doesn’t do smokescreens.
We could also use some insiders to return instead of the Negavols running them off….There are good WRs behind Tate and Innis, as well.
Some posters will make a stink if the "splash" doesn't occur. They'll use it to attack our "insiders" like they always do.
We just really need some quality players from these teams to enter the portal because we have more needs than WR, and very little quality left in the portal.
personally I don't care too much about recruiting. its fun to follow. but the only grade I will ever care about is if Heupel wins. I am not going to keep Jimbo around for another year just because he is bringing in the highest rated class ever again.I’ll have to disagree there. If you can’t grade on some kind of scale then you have no method of measurement. I think Heupel and company have recruited up to this point on the level of a few previous coaches but are starting to trend upwards; I also acknowledge Heupel and staff have had way more obstacles than previous staffs.
I feel like mostly we’ve recruited on a better level and developed on a better level than previous staffs. I do think going forwards we need to do better recruiting as some of the obstacles have diminished during Heupel’s time here.
You’re making way too much sense. Are you sure you’re a fan?personally I don't care too much about recruiting. its fun to follow. but the only grade I will ever care about is if Heupel wins. Josh is getting results with his recruiting/team building. if we get better with 3*s I won't hold it against him for not getting 5*s. maybe you have a faster clock than I do, but for me the goal this year was making the playoffs, we did that. sure we got blown out and that sucks, but guess what, thats the goal now moving forward because we made the last one. Making the playoffs and looking good, hopefully winning. I am not going to go back and retroactively change my expectations for the year after the fact.
