When has any Vol fan cared about anyone learning the playbook. All i heard is MM should be starting. That's all I heard.I am all for Inniss if the coaches want him. When a WR ...especially a 5* WR...ONLY returns kicks and punts though it automatically worries me that they're like CP and arent capable of learning the playbook mentally. Which means they'll never play WR at UT.
I understand that OSU is a special case though and he might not get to play due to having Tate and the 2 starters in front of him. Thats kinda possible...BUT...your #4 WR gets lots of reps normally. Your #5 and #6 WR get plenty of reps...because there are 3 WR spots so thats just being a backup to the 3 starters. So is he the 7th or 8th best WR at OSU as a sophomore? Or is he just not smart enough to learn a playbook? I have no idea. Would like to have him either way though if the coaches want him and think he can contribute
Weezer, you need a snickers. Where has our lovable abominable snowman gone? I am beginning to think someone has hacked your account? We qualified for the playoffs. We got beat by an NFL team at their home stadium. That team has since beaten Oregon and Texas on a neutral field. We led the SEC in rushing. There is a lot to be thankful for. Glass half empty is also half full. Discussions are great but something has changed in the tone. Not trying to be a jerk but let’s face it things are pretty good and only one team will win the championship.Apparently, Ohio State does.
Our OL performed better than Texa$ and Oregon’s $20+ million rosters and we played at their house. Hmmmmm
Yeah but do the people that give that award actually watch the O lines play or just look at stats?Yeah, just 2 of the highest blue chip teams in the entire country. Most OLs had that issue against them.
Top 10 OL 3 straight years means objectively they’re pretty good. I thought that’s what ya asked for?
Well, we did have them stopped on a 3 and out their first drive until Simmons grabbed Howard's facemask. Then, about three plays later, we were down 7-0. I think that set the tone early, particularly after our offense did nothing their first possession and Ohio St hit us again for a quick TD. I don't know how much of a difference it would have made but it would have been nice to see how it would have played out if we don't give them that first down on the facemask penalty.Texas was in the game until the last drive; the Oregon game was over after the first quarter. Our game was over after the first drive of the third quarter, so no we didn’t out perform Texas but absolutely Oregon. I was more concerned with our defense vs Ohio State than our oline. We didn’t really stop them the entire game
Well Cole Cubelic, who is the Joe Moore voting committee chairman, does a pretty in depth breakdown every week of SEC teams' performance.Yeah but do the people that give that award actually watch the O lines play or just look at stats?
We rack up stats against UTC, UTEp , Kent st and other weak teams.
How good we actually are is proven against
Above average teams.

Things are good, but the discussion is how to make it better. The goal is to win championships. My honest opinion is we should replace Pope and Elarbee. I just haven't seen the development of their players. And I also think there's a better than average chance we miss the playoffs next season due to our overall inexperience. We lose a lot from this team IMO. But, it's not like I'm screaming for Heupel's head. I think next season is just part of the natural progression. But in no way are we stacking classes like OSU, or Georgia, or Bama. Until we get to a point where we're stacking talent, you can't expect to be in the playoffs every year. So you build toward that. I don't think that's being negative. I think that's realistic.Weezer, you need a snickers. Where has our lovable abominable snowman gone? I am beginning to think someone has hacked your account? Good deal just wondering if the extreme negativity was getting to you. I agree expecting playoffs every year is a fools errand and just setting yourself up for disappointment. However, I do think that’s got to be the goal or you will lose the locker room. I liked what coach Caldwell said yesterday about the seniors on this year’s team being her players and she wanted to see them be successful. I suppose Heupel has a similar mindset. I think it’s hard to know if a position coach is doing their job well or not. I personally get the concern with Pope but don’t really understand all the hate for Ellarbee. Our OL, while not the best has been in the top of the SEC during his tenure. Also the highly rated guys are all very young. I also really believe in stability and am not a fan of there’s always a better coach on the shelf somewhere. When head coaches start firing a bunch of coaches it’s usually about to fall apart. Anyway, thanks for the balanced response and not going scorched earth on me.Things are good, but the discussion is how to make it better. The goal is to win championships. The thing about stats is that everyone played weak teams, and those figure into their stats as well. Not every team played in the SEC. Not every team led the SEC in rushing. I'd say most of the teams in the SEC are above average, and we played more of them than we did weak teams.Yeah but do the people that give that award actually watch the O lines play or just look at stats?

See my recent post about where we've come from. You don’t think losing pretty one sided to the two best teams we played against is cause for concern considering we lost our best olineman, wide receiver, and running back from said team? We looked pretty inept offensively against both teams and those are the programs we are hoping to compete against, correct? If we are just content with making the playoffs or competing to make them, then great I am ok with that but if the target is a NC then we have areas of concern. Personally, I believe we had a great season but I believe the target should be a NC imho
