Absolutely! My parents would have beaten my ass if I had backed out of a deal. We had money,( and yes, much more than 250,000) that was never an issue. I was raised to keep your world and never break deals. Obviously kids these days don't follow that, but it's just as much the parents fault for letting them act like idiots. Not all are like that, but you get the picture.

Obviously not high 7 figure's, but I've definitely turned down 60-80k raises for another company, simply because I was happy where I was. There's ZERO loyalty these days.
That’s easy to sit and say but respectfully you said money was never an issue but some don’t have that luxury. I completely understand what you are saying and I was raised the same way

I guess I should look at it from both sides. This day and age there's no loyalty and pride towards the state schools. We've seen it. Players being lifelong Vol fans and ending up going elsewhere. Hell, look at Bo Nix. His Dad and name were Auburn Royalty. Yet leaves for a better opportunity.

You see some players that are on their 4th or even 5th school. There's no more waiting and earning your chance anymore.

Then we have Ricky Gibson, who agreed on a new NIL Deal, then 2 Months later uses an injured teammate to try and leverage more money. I personally had hoped they would let his ass walk. That's just going to cause more issues down the road.

Should we keep bargain shopping, our should we pay to keep the best available corner we have?

Absolutely..This is what a 21 million dollar roster looks like. We probably need to stop shopping in the bargain aisles. If not, this will continue to happen.

Agree 100%. Take Ryan Day. He's a tool, but the staff he's hired around him is elite. He gave in, gave up playcalling duties and won a NC. Heupel has the means to bring in an elite staff, yet chooses his buddies. Atleast on the offensive side. Our offensive Coach's are average at best. I wish he would go hire an elite play caller and Heupel worry about being the CEO of his team
So players should be loyal but coaches should not. Got it.

Yeah because players just starter getting paid. 🙄
I remember them getting paid under the table but nothing like it is now and they have the power to transfer whenever they want and not sit out. It is VERY different so maybe think thru before you comment on crap you never took part in or helped for the last several years before NIL like some of us have. Go Atlanta Vol
