USC people are saying UCLA has a deal in place for him and Madden to join the team together

What's best for the team is to grt better with better talent, and speed. If he's going to do whats best for him, we sure as hell are too.

He's always seemed on the shady side, and even during the winter when he told our fans to "refxxxinglax", or however he termed it, it just seemed like he was always in selfish mode, like it was all about Nico and not about Tennessee.

This is cutting your nose off to spite your face. You want to go to the NFL next year? Your best shot is in year three of the same system on a playoff team. Not transferring and having to rush to learn a new system in just a few months before kick off.

Part of me wonders if his family is hedging their bets on him being the slam dunk NFL prospect they once believed he was. Get as much NIL money as you can whike you can and then hope for the best, because like you said, this move flies in the face of anything that would help enhance his NFL chances for the '26 draft.

I want Nico to be here in the fall but this is becoming an impossible situation for all involved. If he hasn’t taken huge strides from last year, I think a much improved Merk can get us to the playoffs with what we’ll have around him. Only thing that worries me is how this looks to other HS families and agents that we may be working with in the future.

considering they gave him the first "big" NIL contract and went to bat for and sued the NCAA just to make him eligible to play, it should show pretty damn good loyalty to upcoming recruits.

I agree, I’m mostly saying that others will use it to negatively recruit and spin lies. Reputations aren’t always based in 100% reality.

There’s still federal income tax. Tennessee doesn’t have state tax and California has one of the highest state tax. He’s still going to be in the near 40% federal tax bracket regardless of where he is.
